Angus, 4 years Male English Lab
Angus

Adopted

Angus is a 4 year old, soon to be 5, purebred English Lab who is a new arrival. He was a companion dog for a family with a disabled son. He is great with kids, cats, and dogs and is an all-around fabulous dog. He needs a home with just a few stairs to the outside and several one mile walks a day. Angus has a mild hock/ankle issue that is genetic. If he gets too much activity, he will limp (back left leg). He's an active dog, good to go with two walks a day between (1-2 miles per walk), but not a good fit for someone who wants a running or hiking partner. He was overweight and still needs to lose a few pounds. They kept him active but didn't overdo it, and he takes supplements so he has no limp currently. We also have him on a mostly raw diet to help keep the pounds off and keep him nutritionally supported. He might be perfect for empty nesters or early retirees. A dream home would have access to water as he loves to swim! Apply at http://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp

Adopted

ADOPTED!!! After nearly four months our big boy Brody found his perfect forever home!!! Thank you to everyone who supported this big lovable dog during his stay at Save A Dog. You trained him, you took him for long walks, you took him for rides in your vehicles, thank you!!! Brody is a big boy with a HUGE HEART! Every guy is in love with him. He came up from the south and his papers say Mastiff/Dane, and Dog Scan thinks he's a type of Mastiff. Trust me, this is an AMAZING dog who deserves a good home. He is 100% house trained and doesn't get into your stuff. We would like a fenced in yard or a strong person to walk him. Our veterinarian thinks he is younger than 5 because he has beautiful, white teeth! Maybe he's 3. He never meets a stranger and he especially loves men (even with hats) and children, although he might be too big for small kids. He gets really excited about treats and will sit for one. He knows Spanish. He’s a big, strong, healthy boy. He loves chew toys. He’s pretty good at playing fetch but he only wants to do it 3-4 times, then he’s done. He absolutely loves all other dogs but tends to play a little too rough for small dogs. He likes horses but he’s not good with cats and chickens. He loads and rides really well in the car and he likes to sit and watch where he is going. He’s the sweetest boy ever and his new family is going to love him. He loves to lie on the sofa. She also really enjoys playing with other small dogs. She is very smart and loves to learn new things. She is an active, athletic girl who thrives on outdoor time and would make a wonderful running or hiking partner. In her foster home, she got along well with the other dogs and made herself part of the family right away -- her foster mom described her as one of the most loving and gentle dogs she has fostered. She is very well mannered in the house, sleeps happily through the night, and is 100% housetrained. She has never had an accident in the house (and she cries when she needs to go out), she doesn't beg at dinnertime, she doesn't counter surf, she doesn't try to get into anything. She rides well in the car with her dog seat belt. She has no noise phobia -- the thunderstorms and fireworks didn't faze her at all. She was spayed on June 8th.

ADOPTED: Rylee found an amazing home, holistic-practicing who will continue the acupuncture. Her latest tests showed she does not have an ectopic ureter, so no laser surgery was required. The Cystoscopy identified that she has a condition called "urethral sphincter mechanism incompetence". Working with her clinician at Tufts, we have decided that her treatment plan includes - allowing her to have a natural heat cycle, acupuncture, a remedy, and chiropractor treatment - Chiropractic complete and first acupuncture done. Rylee is doing great in her foster home. She has a new "puppy cut", sleeps through the night in a crate pen combination, is clean and dry overnight aside from an occasional small bladder leak, rides well in the car (no diaper required), takes regular walks on leash, has a new favorite game of Frisbee, loves grass and clover to both roll in and pull, wants to participate in all gardening activities particularly pruning, loves the neighborhood children, runs just because she can ..... what more can I say? She deserves a wonderful Forever Family of her own. Rylee just turned 5 months as she just lost a canine. Donations will help off-set the cost of her medical tests.

SNOOKIE IS A GORGEOUS LAB MIX. If it wasn't July she would be snapped up in a minute. She has personality and looks! What's not to love! Snookie is mostly Lab and has the friendly Lab personality. In her foster home she was great with the 3 year old child. Snookie weighs 57 lbs. She loves to play with toys. She has a sad story. She was shot in the face with buck shot and left to die. You would never know she had this early trauma as she is a beautiful, friendly, outgoing dog. Snookie has been passed by because she is very excited when you first meet her. A volunteer took her for a walk and she was a totally different dog once she got on the hiking trail and off the road. She was confident and happy and couldn’t stop smelling things and listened very very well. In the woods - She was not the dog we see in the kennel where she barks at everything or in the yard where she chews everything. She had a blast while still being very light on the leash. She barely pulled - like only once or max twice when she found a fascinating smell she couldn’t leave alone. She absolutely loved the hike though- she would have kept going onwards forever. She is a perfect hiking companion!! She came back and walked right into the kiddo pools with water to cool down :-) Apply at http://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp and we'll send you the next steps.
