Adopted

This little 10 week old puppy came from St Thomas to find his forever home. He is just a baby so needs a stay at home situation. His coat is a gorgeous soft silver color. He still needs to learn house training and crate trainiing but is well on his way. He would be fine with another dog or as an only pup. We initially thought he was a Chow mix, but we have seen the mother dog and she doesn't look Chow at all. There's some working breed in there, but not Chow.

Demi, 1 Year Female Chinese Crested/Terrier Mix Demi was found by rescue very close to death from starvation. She was rushed to the vets and luckily she is a fighter. It took awhile for her to put on weight but when her foster family switched her to a grain free diet it made a huge difference. She also was badly matted and had to be shaved, but her hair is growing back nicely. Demi has been in rescue for several months and is very healthy and ready for a new start. She is great with dogs and cats. She also is very sweet with children. When she meets new people her face lights up and her whole body wags happily. She walks well on the leash and does her business outside as long as she’s taken out on a regular routine. She is crate trained but shouldn’t be left for a long time alone. She really needs someone that has time to spend with her and a stay at home situation would be ideal. Demi has been through a lot in her young life but this sweet precious girl is ready to put the past behind her and have a wonderful life with a loving family.

PLAY WITH ME! I would love to find a great home. I came all the way from St. Thomas to chilly Massachusetts so that I could find a great home. Won't you adopt me today? I'm little and funny and full of joy. I'm just waiting for my forever home. I am quiet in my crate and almost house trained too. I would be sad if you were gone all day so please be someone with time for me. I'm just a baby with a lot of love to give! I prefer not to have cats in my home as I am very curious about them. I am not at nippy pup. I am still learning things big dogs already know like leash walking but I love to learn. I would love to go home with someone who would be devoted to my training. I am interested in cats so they have to want to play with me too if they are in the home. You can change my name!

Adopted

Sweet little Fawn is just a precious young girl with one blue eye. She was rescued from a shelter in TN. When rescued Fawn was in the same pen with this dog that was so very afraid and Fawn comforted the dog, licking her face and paws every time the dog would whimper. Fawn was hurting too; she had been hit by a car and spent many days at the vet recovering from injuries which she still limps from. She is now afraid of cars so a rural fenced yard for her to run and play in is best. She loves to race around our yard with other dogs at the shelter. As the rescuer carried her out of the shelter, (no way she was leaving her behind) she put her gently into the car along with her little friend that was so afraid. Cats are unknown but she is house trained and crate trained. Fawn will make a wonderful companion to someone with a very big heart.... Applications will be reviewed after her arrival. She is not available to meet until 12/13 at Petco Natick from 12-2 PM. Fawn needs a very special home. She is just darling, but has had a horrific life up until her rescue. She is our "Tiny Tim" and when you meet her you'll know why. What a special girl!

This is Hiro. He is approximately 6 years old, neutered, up to date on vaccinations. He has been a house pet since he was a puppy. Unfortunately, his owner has Alzheimer's and has had to move into assisted living. He is friendly with all people, other dogs and cats. He loves walking on a leash, is a bit of a puller when excited. He is a very happy, friendly guy with lots of life left but who is also a good couch potato. He just had his teeth cleaned so we do not expect he will need any further vetting other than a wellness check-up at your vet. He and Justin were with the same owner since pups and they were regularly cared for by the same vet. We have all the paperwork including blood work and proof they were on heart worm preventive. He has his certificate of health. Hiro does have contact spots on his hind end indicative of too much time in a crate so we prefer to have part time worker for him. He really likes to have his person in sight and would be fine with another dog. From his foster: "I can't say enough about this dog. He is sooooooo sweet. He doesn't bother my dog, is great with the cats, is housebroken, calm, and just wants to be with a person. The only time I have heard him bark is when he doesn't know where I am. He slept through the night on a dog bed, he eats great. He wants to be with someone so badly so no full time workers."

They say that JoJo is one in a million dogs – kind, gentle, loving and sweet as can be. He likes chasing his favorite balls and playing with squeak toys. He looks forward to daily walks and his favorite game is trying to find the perfect acorn on the route. He is totally housebroken and sleeps on a pad at night. He enjoys playing with all sizes of dogs and is very nice with the four cats in the house. He even grooms them! He would be great at the dog park candidate or walking about the neighborhood. He would like a gentle family that has the time to continue building his confidence and giving lots of love and attention. He likes female dogs better than males and loves to play with Jodie Lee at our shelter. He would do great with a sister or as an only pup to people home a lot to be his best friends. Marvin is interested in playing with cats so a dog savvy cat is a must. He is shy enough that we would like older kids as quick movements and lots of action frightens him a bit. She is crate trained but still loves to be with her people. She walks right in, eats her little treat, and goes to sleep. She loves to sleep with her little blanket/bed and loves her stuffed toys, balls, and the occasional slipper. She is mastering house training and learns things quickly. She loves going outside in the back yard, with her little coat on if it’s cold, and does well on leash, too. We are fenced in and she loves exploring and trotting over to see what the neighbors are doing but very rarely barks. She’s a really quiet girl overall. When it’s time for us to go inside, I call her and she listens and comes right back in. Skippy loves being outside, so an outdoorsy family would be perfect for him, but he's also happy hanging out with you inside. We have taken him hiking, jogging, and to the dog park and he’s done great. He bounces along with his tail wagging! He enjoys meeting other dogs and is very polite with them. As long as new people allow him to approach them at his own pace, he will warm up to them within a few minutes. He was shy inside the house the first day, but has adjusted well. He will fall asleep on your lap while you are watching TV! He tends to be exuberant outdoors and calm and cuddly indoors. He will quietly seek out affection by resting his chin on your hand to be rubbed. With a little patience and encouragement, Skippy quickly adapts to new experiences. Skippy would do best with a fenced in yard. Skippy is in a foster home and can be seen by private appointment. Skippy is so special, we would move heaven and earth to get him adopted. Adopted

Suzie is Rat Terrier, 15 lbs, and 6-7 months old Spayed female Suzie and her sister Sophie are such happy busy girls. They were rescued from a kill shelter in TN. Both of the sisters were so terrified at the shelter the wouldn't eat and slept sitting up in the corner, it was heartbreaking to see. Since in foster they have blossomed, Anyone familiar with this breed knows what good, fun and delightful and super smart companions this breed is. They have house trained themselves, mastered the dog door in about an hour. They learned very quickly that the foster cat is off limits. We have yet to hear them bark, they do a little whine but so far that's it. They will do best in separate homes as they compete for attention and deserve a family of their own. They are house trained and good with foster cat. Sophie has a full mask and Suzie has a half mask.

Adopted

Tawny is the sweetest pup. The largest of her litter, at 11 weeks old, Tawny, now a little over 13lbs, is everything you would expect of a puppy. The first to greet you at the puppy pen of a morning, full of energy, great appetite and very keen to learn. For the right training treat, she will follow the "sit" and "down" commands fairly consistently and returns when called. We have started to introduce her to a collar and leash, and she adapts very well. Tawny loves to play with toys - balls, anything that squeaks or that can be chased. She is getting braver and will explore the garden with enthusiasm. She loves to chase the foster family's mini Schnauzer and pull his beard. Tawny loves to play first and then is more than happy to snuggle, always enjoying a cuddle when she wakes in the morning and before settling in her crate for the night. Please be a stay-at-home. Children must be ten and up and extremely gentle as it's tempting to carry around little ones and they can be dropped and easily hurt. We follow a holistic protocol so we space the vaccines a month apart according to Dr. Jean Dodds' protocol. They are too young to be spayed or neutered. Please allow maturity and you will have fewer health problems later on.
