Hi there, my name is Alyza and I'm a 5 year old spayed friendly girl. I am gentle with babies, toddlers, and dogs. I lived with five children at one time, from infants to eight years old. My family used to prop the baby on me as a pillow. I share my space and my bed readily with other dogs. I grew up with a small dog and am being fostered with 3 other dogs. If you think you can adopt me, I will be your best friend for life! I know sit, stay, and paw and I understand just about everything you tell me. I'm obsessed with tennis balls, but I also destroy them so sometimes you have to hide them from me. I'm house trained. Barney is a gorgeously HUGE 13 week old Shepherd mix pup. He already weighs about 30 pounds. The vet thinks he will be over 100 pounds when he is full grown. He loves other dogs and plays constantly with his brother Romeo. He is a very smart puppy who already knows how to sit, lay down, and play fetch. We don't know if he is house trained as we have never seen him in a house before, but he doesn't have any accidents in his run over night. He was neutered already so will need to be on supplements. Brownie is a 10 week old female "Coconut Retriever" from St. Thomas. Her owner in St Thomas couldn't keep her because the landlord wouldn't allow it. Brownie is nonstop fun. She constantly wants to play and explore. She also isn't scared of anything. She has loved meeting kids and dogs alike. Meet Caesar, a six year old neutered male Saint Bernard who is very laid back. He's a giant boy, over 130 pounds! He is dog, cat and people friendly. He is from Indiana and is excellent with horses, birds, (chickens, guineas etc.). He mostly has a dry mouth (not drolly) except when nervous or hot. Has always lived inside with another dog and a cat. He is excellent with kids, not demanding, likes spending time outdoors when it is cool and going for walks. He stays close never wandering. Lived with the same family from 7wks until now. Owners retired and decided to travel and do hobby woodcarving in various states, living in a travel trailer. Meet Charlie, the sweetest dog on earth! He is 10 years young. You would never know he was a senior. He's young and vibrant, but recovering from skin issues as a result of a poor diet. He's clearing up on grain free venison diet. He is on prescription meds that we think he should be weaned off of. We have him on homeopathic remedies, supplements, and B vitamins. Adopter must be willing to follow a holistic protocol so that Charlie can bring you many more years of joy. He needs a stay at home, not someone gone all day, especially as he needs some TLC at this point in his life. He won't disappoint as he has a sweet personality. Charlie is good with dogs and sweet with children, but was not raised with them so visiting children are best. Our vet did extensive blood work to determine the cause of the skin problem, so we welcome help with his expenses too.
Meet Dixie from Georgia! She is a very sweet and playful one year old who weighs 27 pounds. She came to us because her elderly owner went into a nursing home and the new family did not treat Dixie well. Due to the fact that she was mistreated she can be a bit shy when first meeting new people, especially males. However she warms up quickly especially when you have treats. Gunner is a 4 month old puppy who will be available on 8/26/17. Please be someone who has time for a puppy and the resources to provide training. They have some bird dog, some Collie, maybe some Retriever. Please have a fenced in yard for these pups and know that you can't leave a puppy in a crate for 4 hours then come home for lunch and leave for another 4 hours. It would be a long, sad day for an active puppy.
Hey-Boy is a 3 year old neutered male Mini Australian Shepherd from West Virginia. He is from a back yard breeder. Due to this he hasn't had much socialization. He is friendly with dogs but wary of most people. Dog experience especially Australian Shepherd experience is preferred. It is not a must but a fenced in yard would be helpful for Hey-Boy just in case he gets scared and runs out the door. Another dog in the home would also be helpful because it will give Hey-Boy more confidence. Holly is a 7 year old spayed Border Collie/Papillion mix who is diabetic. She is underweight at 24 lbs. and is on Vetsulin. We'll have her worked up at the holistic vet, but for now she needs injections twice a day. She is gorgeous, with one blue eye and the softest coat. She has no behavioral problems, is fine with other dogs, kids, and cats. She lost her home simply because of her health condition. Won't someone give her a chance? Howie is a two year old Dachshund-Chihuahua mix. He is so sweet, calm, and adorable. He does great with all other furbabies in the house, including cats. Howie does tricks like begging, etc.
He loves to stand up on your lap, "hug" your neck and give you kisses. He's so sweet, loving and calm. Great companion for all.

Johnny is a two year old neutered male Schnorkie (Yorky/Schnauzer mix) from Texas. He was in a foster home who has to make room for the hurricane dogs. He is house trained and lets you know when he has to go out. He loves toys and can be mouthy when excited and will play bite your hands, so older kids would be best. He is very playful and tried to play with the foster's cat, but he got swatted so is very cautious around cats now (will need gentle introductions). He arrives 9/14 and will be available after his health exam.
Hi my name is Lacey! I am a sweet senior looking for my furever home. I am 10 years old and weigh around 54 pounds. Even though I am 10 and starting to gray around the face I am still young at heart. I am from West Virginia. I lived in a home my whole life but when they got a new puppy they wanted me out. They wanted to put me down but luckily the vet said no and helped me get to Save A Dog. I don't know why they wanted to get rid of me. I am a good dog who is housetrained, knows how to sit, lay down, and shake. I also get along with kids, cats, and most dogs. Sometimes I do not get along with big noisy dogs, but as you can see by my video I enjoy smaller calmer dogs. Lenny is two year old, 18 lb little mixed breed dog who is at Save A Dog. His tail curls like a Pug and he is brindle like a Pug, but he's taller like a Basenji. He came up north in an RV and likes to ride shot gun or to run up and down the aisles playing fetch. What's not to love about this little guy? He knows a ton of commands and he uses his paws like a human. Maybe he's a miniature Boxer. He loves string cheese; he loves his squeaky pig; he loves a tennis ball and he loves water toys. He's crate trained and house trained. He knows "focus, sit, down, stay, get your toy, get it, give it, go potty, and come. He just needs some leash work as he will bark at other dogs when he's attached to his human. He just needs some training and will be fine. He doesn't like bath time and he doesn't like restraint, like at the vet, so small children would not be a good match for him. He likes to swim and will jump in the pool to retrieve his toys. He's a little dog with a BIG personality. He's curious about everything and will be a lot of fun to take hiking or swimming or just throwing a ball in the back yard. He'll be available now. Little Buddy is a neutered male beagle. He weighs 25 lbs. He will be here on 9/16 and available on 9/18. Little Dixie is a tiny 8 lb girl. She is a 7 month old Jack Russell mix. When you first meet Lil Dixie she can be very scared. However she's only been here a few days and has already bonded with staff. Even though she is timid she hasn't shown any aggression. She also loves other dogs. When she's around other outgoing dogs it is a great confidence boost for her. Lil Dixie is a lil escape artist and because of this she would do well in a fenced in yard. Lyle is a 50 pound male yellow Lab/Husky mix who is around 11 months old. Lyle is from farm country where he didn't interact with many people so he is shy. That being said he doesn't have an aggressive bone in his body. Lyle is currently in a foster home and is doing great. He has lots of playmates there that teach him how to interact with people and gain confidence. A requirement we have for Lyle is a securely fenced in yard (physical, not electric). He is doing so well and we hope someone will come along soon to give this beautiful boy the love and attention he so deserves. Miles is a small, 8 year old, handsome dog at 18 pounds. He is neutered. Miles was adopted in July, but a change in the couple's situation is causing him to come back. They say "he is a total joy" and this is not his fault. He's laid back and easy-going, always looks like he's 'smiling'. He will pretty much ignore cats, but if they run he will give chase. He won't bark at them. Adult home is best as he was not raised with children. A retiree who wants a pal would be perfect for him. He loves his walks and doesn't pull.

His favorite things in the world are lounging on the couch, having his belly rubbed, and going for nice long walks where he gets to sniff everything. Although he's about 8 years old, he has a lot of energy on his walks and will keep going for a good long while if you're up for it. He's a very fast walker, too, and responsive to your direction using the leash -- doesn't pull much and is usually happy to move on if you ask him to. He's not scared of traffic unless a particularly loud truck goes by and makes him jump. At home he's very calm and mostly wants to hang out near you -- on the couch, if at all possible -- and have his belly rubbed. He makes the funniest little grunting noises while you rub his belly to tell you he's enjoying it. And he has the cutest little face -- he even "smiles" when he's happy!
He is perfectly housetrained, no accidents whatsoever and he asks to go out when he needs to. He has not been at all destructive of anything in the house and I wouldn't have any concerns about leaving him home alone outside of his crate. If he wants to chew on something, he goes straight for his toys, but mostly he likes to chill out on the couch.
Miles is a smart boy and very trainable. He already knows a lot of commands: sit, lay down, leave it, roll over, play dead, shake, and high five are the ones we've discovered so far. He also picks up very quickly what you want from him and is eager to please. For example, within a day or so he had figured out that we want him to roll over so we can wipe his paws when he comes in from a walk, and now he does it without even being asked. Praise and affection are bigger motivators for him than food in general, though he does like his treats.
Misha is a one year old mini chocolate lab mix. She is around a year old and weighs 25 pounds. She is good with other dogs and fine with over all handling. Hi, my name is Rambo! I am around 1.5 to 2 years old and weigh in at 82 pounds. I'm from Georgia where I lived with a family but they gave me up because they did not have time for me. However, they did say that I am good with kids and dogs, and am house trained. At the shelter I've been fearful of men, but more of a ladies' man. I brighten when I see kids. I'm not so great meeting other dogs on leash so that hasn't gone well, but I came in with another dog when I was turned in. Someone just needs to give me a chance. I'm easy going and not destructive. I'm house trained too. I love to go for walks, play ball and then cool off in the water. Even though I do like to play I am still a big cuddle bug who just wants some love. I was adopted for a few days but was returned because I was afraid of the men in the house. I'm being boarded in Northboro and can meet you by private appointment.

Reeko is a neutered male Aussie/Border Collie mix who is 2 years old and weighs 44 pounds. He is from WV and has one Blue Eye!!!
He is fine with other dogs and with all over handling.
Remington is an 8 month old Purebred Bloodhound. He is playful, loves swimming and fetching in the water. He behaves very nicely with other dogs and puppies, enjoys personal time with his human friends. He is still learning many things and would benefit greatly with obedience classes. Housetraining has been going along fairly well. He has the funniest gait when he runs. He is not a big barker, but when playing he is vocal. He is fine with inside cats, but may want to chase an outdoor cat. He is a very typical Bloodhound, following his nose everywhere and loving to play and cuddle. Like a typical hound he sometimes whines like a baby for attention.
He is a very sweet dog who needs people that have time to be with him as his previous owners had to work very long shifts and were not able to spend enough time with him. He was outside and alone most of the time, he deserves a family that will include him in their lives. He is good in the car and enjoys going for walks. It would be nice for him to have a fenced yard and a playmate. He should be available around 8/26 to see and then has to be neutered.
Romeo is a 13 week old Shepherd/Rottweiler mix who already weighs 20 pounds. He is a big pup who will probably be around 80-100 pounds when he is fully grown. The vet thinks he will be quite large as he still has his baby teeth. He is GORGEOUS and sweet! He is up to date on his vaccines and has been vetted by our vet. He hasn't been neutered yet though because one of his testicles has not dropped. Our vet recommended waiting to see if it will drop instead of doing an invasive surgery right away. Romeo is a great puppy. He loves dogs and doesn't stop playing with his brother Barney. He also enjoys his people time. He'll run over to you and give you as many kisses as possible. Roxy is a very sweet, very energetic 2 year old Collie mix. She is definitely a herding breed. She has been spayed, treated for heartworm, and is ready for her new forever home.
She has lived in a foster home with many other dogs of all sizes and breeds. She did great with them all but might be too much for smaller dogs. She would do best with a fenced in yard and another dog to play with. Right now she's in a foster home and is getting lots of daily walks, which she loves.
Roxy's foster mom says "Roxy is an energetic dog but has settled right in and is not hyper or out of control at all in my home, she naps after a long morning walk but is always curious as to where I am in the house. She is very well behaved (when I first brought her home, she jumped on the bed, with a simple "off" she immediately got down.
She will chew on a bully stick and likes to chase after a ball or squeaky toy. She does have high prey drive and will try to chase a squirrel or rabbit on walks.
I have left Roxy uncrated while I did errands and she naps when I'm gone.
She is quite the cuddle bug and very sweet."

Squiggy is a cute little mutt who came up from Georgia. He has so much personality that he rode shotgun all the way. He is little and spunky and fun -- he weighs around 21 pounds so is a perfect size. He has been neutered and is up to date on all his vaccines. He is a complete love bug. Even though he likes to run around and play with toys, his favorite thing to do is cuddle. He loves sitting on your lap, putting his front paws on your shoulders, and closing his eyes as you scratch him. Squiggy loves his people and cries when you put him away. For this reason he would do best with someone who is home a good amount of the day. Squiggy also gets along with other dogs and kids. He is the brother of Lenny who got adopted last week. Tucker is a cute 4 year old male Corgi who was raised with kids. He's a happy little guy who could lose a few pounds. Perhaps with a change in diet and some exercise the pounds will drop off quickly. Tucker came from a working family so was left alone all day. A couple of walks a day should help a lot. He is a local dog so is available immediately. Tucker was raised as an only dog and will do best to remain as an only dog in the household.
Willy is an adorable 9-12 months old Jack Russell Terrier/Corgi-sized mix who just wants to play. He is all about fun, fun, fun. You would never know he has just been through such an ordeal because of loss of home, loss of his family and being transported many miles away from his birthplace of St. Thomas.
