He is in a foster home and doing well, only one overnight accident so far. He likes play with small stuffed toys and loves to bury them under his blankets. He's very sweet and affectionate. He sleeps in his crate all night. He had a dental with many extractions so he's on a soft diet and will need to continue. He probably will need a few more extractions in the near future. She was found in a ditch in Haughton, Louisiana in April 2020 when she was just a few weeks old. She weighed less than a pound and was sickly. The rescuer's college-aged son nursed her back to health and wanted to keep her but decided she needs a better home as he goes to school full time. Creek is super smart and he has taught her some commands - she can sit and “paw”. She barks at cats, but tries to play with them. She is very friendly and pretty high energy, but will obey when you ask her to settle down. She eats well but she has been eating a chicken and rice dry food with an little canned. Molly was born with a heart defect called Patent Ductis Arteriosus where a blood vessel, the ductus arteriosus, does not close properly. Fortunately, it is correctable with a surgical procedure. If the surgery is performed before heart failure develops the success rate is very high and the prognosis for a normal life after the surgery is excellent. Thanks to your donations we were able to get Molly to a cardiologist at Tufts and four cardiologists performed the life-saving surgery on Molly. The surgical expenses exceeded $5000 but we were able to raise the funds with our wonderful community of donors. Molly has a home waiting and once she is fully recovered she will join her sibling Matty in her adoptive home. This is one very blessed little dog, thanks to a community of compassionate and generous dog lovers! God bless you all and God bless Bev and Ken MacKay who fostered Molly through the long process. Romeo, 7 years Male JRT  Mix   Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Romeo is a 7 year old Jack Russell who was in foster care in Louisiana. He was a stray who nobody claimed. Foster says he loves to play with the older kids but wary of toddlers. If grands have been raised with critters that's ok but older please. He's been through so much we think he would do best as an only dog and a in a home without cats. Romeo will choose to crate himself when he's tired or is overwhelmed. He has been a quiet and calm dog. He will bark or whine when he need to go out, and has only had 2 accidents since being here. Both were at night and foster says she slept through his whining to go out. Romeo doesn't need a ton of space. And while he detests the slip lead, he walks perfectly well with a typical leash/collar combo. He's not excessively noisy, nor is he terribly hyper. He loves to be a lap dog. She is just about six years old (DOB=9/28/2014) and came to Save A Dog a little shell-shocked from life in a shelter where she spent the last five years. She is very timid and it takes a lot of coaxing to get her outside, so she would do best with a fenced in yard and dog door or someone to let her out during the day. She will walk on leash for a bit, but when she decides to stop, there is no moving her. She is timid in new situations -- but very sweet. Even in her most frightened state would never put a tooth on anyone. She is spayed and is heart worm negative. She gets along with both male and female dogs, but we'd like her to be the Princess for awhile in her new home. She deserves it and we know she will bond tightly with her new adopter. She weighed 82 lbs when she came in but the weight is coming off quickly. Her blood work was perfect according to our vet. So she just needs her people and a physically fenced in yard.
