Cherry Pie, 5-7 years old Female Lab / Beagle  Mix UPDATE; Even better news. Cherry Pie saw the surgeon on 9/26 and she is going to manage it without surgery! Cherry's mom met with us right afterwards and signed the adoption papers. Thanks to everyone who helped out. We will use the funds for her prior expenses and anything left over will go towards the medical needs of other dogs in our care. Here's her story: Cherry Pie's mammory lump is benign! Now she can have the surgery on her leg and be relieved from a life of pain! Cherry Pie deserves our help. She's a lovely dog, loves to be around people and is great with all animals. She is also always ready for a treat, likes to play with other dogs and enjoys walks. Cherry Pie would do best in a home with a fenced in yard. She came into a shelter in Louisiana with a previous injury to her back leg and she carries the leg without stepping down on it -- because of the pain! We are asking for donations towards her medical expenses and appreciate anything you are able contribute towards Cherry Pie's care. Despite her bad leg, she loves going for long walks. She likes to roll in the grass and dirt. Cherry has an adoptive home with one of our volunteers who is currently caring for her.
