Adopted

Baby Boy is a male Lab mix who is available for adoption. He is part of a litter including Jazzie, Junior, Baby Boy, Minnie Mouse, and Roxie and all have been in a foster home for several months as we did not want to transport them without at least the second set of vaccines. So they are older pups, but healthier. All the pups play nice together and are well behaved in the car. They will jump up for attention, but were fine with the foster mom's neighbor's children including a special needs child. Because they are going to be larger dogs, older children are preferred. They know how to use a dog door to come in and out of the house. They are all just big love bugs. We strongly believe in having you meet the pup before making the commitment and feel just as strongly that we want to meet you and your household. It helps us if you fill out the application prior to coming to meet them. Application process is at no charge to you. Our pups have been raised on a holistic food along with probiotics and other supplements. All our adopters receive literature on raising a healthy pup before you take the dog home.

Adopted

Bonnie is a sweet, shy, 1.5 year old Corgi mix pup who is looking for a home. She would love to have another dog to play with as she loves dogs. She and her foster friends play all day long, leaping from sofa to sofa and skidding across the hard wood floors. Then they flop down in a pile and go to sleep. A fenced in yard is a must for Bonnie as she needs to be able to go outside and come in on her own. One day into her foster home she was giving kisses to her foster mom. She is a great pup. Once she knows you her tail is always wagging and she loves to cuddle and give kisses. She would do best with a single woman as she is timid with men. She would be a great pal for someone who has another dog who is lonely and needs a pal. She is in a foster home and we would be able to set up an appointment once an application is received

Buddy would be a nice family pet! ! BUDDY is a 1-year-old Beagle mix male, weighs about 38 lbs., brindle and white color, has been well cared for and loved in his former home. Very sweet, quiet and gentle, low activity level, gets along great with everyone, including other dogs. He can not be placed with cats only because he would like to play with them. Walks well on leash, and is TOTALLY housetrained! Scored all A's on his temperament test and is HW negative. Here is an update from his Massachusetts foster mom "Buddy is a BEAUTIFUL, SPECTACULAR, CHARMING dog who has seamlessly transitioned into his foster home. His tail has not stopped wagging since he hopped in the car and stuck his head out the window to catch the breeze. He has won the hearts of everyone he has met so far, cozying up for a pet, a lick or a belly rub. He loves people and wants to be within an arms reach so his people can scratch the itch he can't quite reach. While he enjoys his walks (and is walking well on leash) he also likes to curl up on the cool tile floor and snooze. He is working on some basic obedience training and is learning quickly. What a wonderful, lovable dog he is! He is going to make someone VERY happy! Please fill out an application on our Web site as he is in a foster home and want to make sure he is here if you would like to meet him. He is a great dog!

Adopted

Carter is a six month old male Boston Terrier / Cairn mix. Has the face shape and eyes of a Boston, the white markings, and makes the weird noises that BTs make. He's hilarious! But that's where the BT stops and the other breed(s) comes in. He's short in the leg and a little long in the back and has a merly gray coat and whiskers on his face, and a tail. Somebody taught him to sit on command. He's SO friendly and is leash-trained too. He will run after a ball and might just be housebroken. Imagine someone letting him run in a busy road and then never trying to find him after he was picked up? That's what happens in rural parts of the country like WV where dogs are mostly all forced to live outside. Carter is 12 lbs and will probably stay small. Terriers are not generally good for children, as they can be feisty, and because we want a forever home for him, we will give preference to adult homes or those with older kids, tweens and up. He's available as of July 2nd. No phone calls, PLEASE! If you're seriously interested, please fill out the application on our Web site.

Dixie LOVES to chase tennis balls. She jumps on them, bats at them to make them move, and is happy just having somebody throw them for her. She's good on leash, a little head shy, which is not unusual for a small dog. She will be nervous when she first meets you, but with a little time, will settle in nicely. Her Massachusetts foster mom reports, "She lies on the couch with the other dogs. She loves playing ball. She also enjoys squeaky toys and loves to make the noise, ha ha. She has had no accidents in the house. She is ok on a leash but nervous with quick movements or noises. She also barks at her reflection." Dixie is about 2 years old or less and weighs around 20 lbs. She's great with other dogs and super with cats! Spayed in November, rabies in Dec., DA2PPv in Jan. or Feb. She is up to date on vaccines and spayed. Would do best in an adult home as she was not raised with kids. No phone calls, PLEASE! If you're seriously interested, please fill out the application on our Web site.

Holly is a sweet, shy Retriever/Husky mix who we have had for awhile as she was in a foster home in the Western part of the state, but will be here soon. She is spayed and doing really well. She arrived shy and still has a ways to go, but she loves her foster mom and loves to sit in her lap. She LOVES other dogs and would excel if she had another dog to play with and to help build her confidence. She is being fostered with a male schnauzer who is also available and they could go together but it is not mandatory, as long as she has dog pals. She loves the outside and she has a double coat so is barely even wet when she comes in from playing in the snow. She will bond closely with her people, but be shy with strangers. She's a real sweetheart, is housebroken, and weighs 51 lbs. She turned 1 in August of 09. She would benefit from a lot of quality time and has the potential to be a Velcro dog. Other than her timidity- Holly has no issues. She is rock solid house trained and is as affectionate and calm as you will meet. Our process is that you fill out the application first, then in one or two days we will contact you if your application is a match. Holly will not be at the meet and greet Sunday! Sox is almost six months old and she is such a joyful pup. We can't believe she's not already adopted. She's been with us a month and all the volunteers are so attached to her. She has so much personality. She uses her paws as hands and her eyes can bore a hole right through your heart. She is the most adorable pup you'll ever meet, and so small, only about 20 lbs with very short hair and very little shedding. Her ears want to stand up and they probably will. She looks like a tiny Shepherd with very short hair, but our vet says no Shepherd, probably Sheltie. We think she's mixed with something very small. She is delightful and very sweet. She is in a foster home with two other dogs who love to play with her. Her story: She was the pup of an elderly couple and they could no longer take care of her, but rest assured she was incredibly loved and majorly spoiled. Please express your interest by applying online at Apply to Adopt on our web page. Sox is in a foster home and we would be able to set up an appointment once an application is received.
