Adopted

Ami is a 4 month old Lab mix pup. What a blast she has running in the yard? She and her brother Archie currently weigh 30 lbs, but at 4 months old they both have a lot of growing to do. Their mother was a pure bred chocolate lab, but they don't know what breed the father was. They are both up to date on vaccines and in good health. We report that Ami and Archie are typical lab pups: sweet, trainable, playful, and very affectionate. They love to play in the pool on hot days and love to wrestle. Ami has longer, wavier fur than her brother and is really a very pretty pup.Our process is that you fill out the application first, then in one or two days we will contact you if your application is a match. Please read our guidelines under Apply to Adopt as some dogs require a stay-at-home and some dogs require a fenced in yard. Phone calls are discouraged as it takes time away from the care of the dogs to answer questions that might already be on our web site. We tend to put down everything we know. If information is missing, it's usually because we don't know yet. :-) Check web site for Meet and Greet hours. Available date is 7/24/09.

Anna is a Golden Retriever, possibly a mix who came into a rescue situation when she had puppies. Her puppies were all adopted through Save A Dog in Feb and now it's her turn. She is best pals with Baxter, the lab. She's overweight but it's because she got no exercise with her former owner. Anna needs a quiet household as she is nervous in new situations. Also, she is nervous around small dogs. Our process is that you fill out the application first, then in one or two days we will contact you if your application is a match. Please read our guidelines under Apply to Adopt as some dogs require a stay-at-home and some dogs require a fenced in yard. We tend to put down everything we know. Adopted

Baxter is a really sweet boy who ended up in a shelter in TN. He was rescued and neutered and put into foster care and will be coming on July 8th. He is a typical active, young lab. Loves the water. Good natured and not hyper…just active. He likes running, swimming, hiking. A great home would be someone who can exercise him, someone who can take him swimming. He's also great with other dogs, lets them eat out of his food bowl. Not tested with cats, but we don't expect aggression. He would probably want to play with them, though. Our process is that you fill out the application first, then in one or two days we will contact you if your application is a match. Please read our guidelines under Apply to Adopt as some dogs require a stay-at-home and some dogs require a fenced in yard. Click on picture to enlarge

Adopted

Bear is an English Shepherd / Australian Shepherd mix who is as smart as they come. He would make a great service dog as he figured out on his own how to open his kennel door by pushing the latch up with his nose. No other dog has ever done that here. It is amazing. We feel he needs a home where he will be trained with positive reinforcement so that he can show off his smarts to the public and people can learn that shelter dogs are not throw-aways, but are living, breathing, loving, intelligent individuals who deserve to live out their days as companion animals. He is fine in the car, good on leash, playful and very good natured. He is a slow eater and should be fed by himself. He eats a little, walks off, comes back for more, walks off, etc. He eats enough ....just in his own time! Our process is that you fill out the application first, then in one or two days we will contact you if your application is a match. Please read our guidelines under Apply to Adopt as some dogs require a stay-at-home and some dogs require a fenced in yard. Phone calls are discouraged as it takes time away from the care of the dogs to answer questions that might already be on our web site. We tend to put down everything we know. If information is missing, it's usually because we don't know. :-) He will be neutered on Friday 5/22/09 so will not be at Friday's hours, but will be available to be seen on Sat, or before Friday by private appointment once we receive your application.

Tipper and his brothers and sisters were dumped behind a school. The woman who rescued him went back the next day and found his mom, Maizy. Tipper is an energetic pup, and Maizy is a calm, gentle dog who will be coming up from TN with him. Our process is that you fill out the application first, then in one or two days we will contact you if your application is a match. Please read our guidelines under Apply to Adopt as some dogs require a stay-at-home and some dogs require a fenced in yard. Adopted

Wiley is an adorable pup who seems mostly husky, the fur, the traits, but also could have some Shepherd in him. He was picked up by animal control in TN as a stray and placed in a high volume shelter. After being pulled from the shelter, he was placed in a foster home where he lived outside. This sweet boy is great in the car, on leash, and loves to play with other dogs. He is very affectionate and will sit there and be petted in his kennel. He loves to play with toys and is not mouthy or nervous. Our process is that you fill out the application first, then in one or two days we will contact you if your application is a match.   Winnie, 7 months Female Lab  Mix
Winnie

Adopted

Winnie is a 7 month old spayed female Lab mix who has too much energy for her current family. She will be available at the end of the month. She gets along great with other dogs and goes to doggy daycare regularly. She's great with kids, but with her energy level might do best with teens or tweens and up. She is house trained and she knows “sit,” “down,” “wait,” “watch,” “leave it/take it”. “Come” is still a work in progress, especially as she is an adolescent.
