Adopted

Alicia is a 7 lb. petite one year old or less DSH Calico who is looking for her forever home. She is very affectionate. We're not sure if she's good with other cats, but at least introduction would have to be slowly. She's not exposed to dogs that we know of. If considering adopting please be aware that cats can live to be 20+ years old so it is a very long term commitment. It is not fair to only keep a cat for a short while and then give him/her up later. They love their families and are heartbroken to be separated from them at any point. ***************** WE DO NOT HAVE THE RESOURCES TO RETURN PHONE CALLS SO PLEASE DO NOT CALL. If interested in adopting please complete the application at http://saveadog.org/available_cats.asp and download the application.

Adopted

THANKS TO ALL OF YOUR PRAYERS AND SUPPORT, ASPEN FOUD A WONDERFUL HOME. HER NEW NAME IS GEORGIA! Aspen is a 7 years old Beagle/Lab mix who is microchipped and spayed. She was rescued from an abusive situation (owner in jail) and needs to make up for lost time. During her ordeal she lost sight in one eye. She was 40 pounds at rescue, but she was treated for heart worms and all that sitting around put on the lbs. She deserves a cushy life now after being chained outside and starved. Her spirit is not broken, though. She takes great joy in chasing bunnies. Inside she is a mellow girl, outside a bit more lively than Alpine who is totally subdued. She walks well on a leash and rides well in a car. She wants lots of love. Donations will help cover her transport and quarantine fees. She deserves to be an only dog and not held up to the standards of a suburban leash-walked dog. Let her enjoy the backyard. If you're fenced, she will be so happy to stay home or go for a ride on your errands. Apply at http://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp

Hi, My name is Bella and I'm a Maltipoo looking for a new home. I was raised with kids and started to bark for attention, at least that's what I'm told. My Save A Dog rescuers think a home where I'm the baby and there are just visiting kids would be best. I'm up to date on vaccines, over-vaccinated in fact so no more for me. Please be holistic in your approach to my ongoing medical care. I need a nutritious diet, daily walks and someone to be my everything. Please do not call as the phone can only hold so many messages before it crashes. The application is right on the web site. Local adopters preferred, no out-of-state. Cape is okay, otherwise Sudbury area is best.

Chester is a young cat who has survived an ordeal. Our rescue partner, Lizzie Sides, was driving home from her job at the vet hospital and saw a cat lying in the road. He looked dead, but she slowed down and he lifted his head up. Lizzie turned around, scooped him up and brought him to the vet where he recovered from a broken pelvis. He is fully recovered and very grateful to Lizzie. He seeks attention and she was doing other chores he would grab her legs with his paws and pull on her pant leg. Smart cat. We're looking for an experienced cat home, adults only please. He is good with cats and shared a condo with Ashley, the fire survivor. He is neutered and tested and up to date, but please be holistic-minded as we only want the best for Chester with the healthiest outlook for a long life. Please do not fill out the dog application. We have a separate cat application on the Available Cats page. http://saveadog.org/available_cats.asp. Available 6/22/20.

SAD UPDATE. Mindy escaped from her adoptive home and was hit by a car and killed. We are all deeply saddened by the tragic loss of our beloved little girl. Our only comfort is knowing that she received so much love and care the last few months of her life. She was lovingly cared for by our volunteers and especially by her foster family, the MacKay's who saw her through the delivery of six puppies and cherished her right until the end. Mindy was loved and doted on. While we're all crushed, we will continue to honor her memory by forging ahead to save other little dogs like Mindy. She and others so deserve everything we have to give.

Rose is a sweet, energetic inquisitive puppy who loves other dogs, loves children and adults. She loves cuddling with her people. She does well with leash walking but will stop to say hello to anyone walking by. Though she is a social butterfly, in her down time she just loves squeaky toys and chewing on a bulky stick. Rose makes great eye contact and can be easily redirected if she gets a hold of something she shouldn’t chew on. She knows “sit” “come” and is working on other commands. She is doing well with her crate training, and is totally housebroken. She usually sleeps from 10 pm till 6:30 am with several naps through the day. She will bring a lot of joy to a family that will give her a lot of love. Please go to our website at www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp to fill out our online application. Adopted

******************************************** Our adoption policies are as follows: Kittens must be placed in pairs OR there must be another kitten at home for the kitten to play with. Some pairs of cats will only be placed as pairs and not split up. These decisions are made in the best interest of the cats. Thank you for respecting our process.

Adopted

Cheerio, Maggie, and Sadie are from Louisiana and weigh about 6 lbs at 8 weeks so the puppy weigh calculator estimates them to be 39 lbs when full grown. This is just a guess. Please consider this: only 1 in 5 puppies stays in their original homes. Therefore we are very careful about the stability of the puppies we place. We prefer fenced yards, previous experience, and local adopters. Available 6/20/20.

Adopted

Sam is one of a group of 3 kittens. All kittens are litterbox trained. No uh-ohs anywhere. Sam came skittish and unsure. Now he is the biggest cuddle bunny and would dominate your time and lap all day if you would allow him. He's very "needy" wanting to be held. Sassy, Sasha, and Sam see dogs daily, and could acclimate to living with one, but they aren't used to interacting with dogs. They have had no negative experience with dogs up to this point so it would have to be a dog who is proven to be safe with kittens/cats. If considering adopting please be aware that cats can live to be 20+ years old so it is a very long term commitment. It is not fair to only keep a cat for a short while and then give him/her up later.
