  Bosco, 9 weeks Male Schnoodle
Bosco

Adopted

Update: The pups are 9 weeks old now and doing much better. They have been worked with and we think each would do best in a home with another dog, preferably a larger female. These are doing to be big, big dogs, so a large breed dog would be best as they will might upstage a smaller dog. Bosco and Bungee are 9 weeks old now, both Schnoodle pups who were separated from their mother too young so did not get the proper training. We are looking for very dog experienced homes without children as they play very rough and were very growly before we worked with them. They growled when you pick them up and they bit hard. They are much better now. We think this is partly because they never got the proper training from the mother dog and they also do not yet have what is called "bite inhibition". They would each do well with a mature female dog who will give them the tempering that they didn't get from Mom. They are in a foster home with a female "mama" dog now and doing very well. They will need to go to separate homes where the adopter has successfully taken a dog through basic obedience training OR who has successfully worked with a dog trainer / animal behaviorist and can provide that person as a reference. Because these puppies need the extra work, we are seeking homes where the dog-experienced person is the main caretaker. They each need socialization with other puppies so they the bite inhibition is reinforced in a positive way. Puppy Kindergarten is a must for these two as well as working wtih a behaviorist to teach bite inhibition and reward positive behaviors. These are cute pups, so might draw a crowd, but are not for the average dog adopter. Mom was a Giant Schnauzer and Dad was a white Standard Poodle. Please apply online if you qualify and no phone calls, please.

Chandler
Chandler   Chandler

Adopted

Chandler is an adorable pup who needs a gentle adopter. He likes to swim and likes to play with other dogs. He thinks of his foster sister as his main mentor and follows her everywhere. He enjoys romps in the fields of Wayland, Ma, where he is currently being fostered. His drawback is that he's shy and so hasn't been adopted yet. We are willing to work with the right adopter and subsidize obedience training. Chandler, Emma, Joey, Monica, Nora, Phoebe, and Rachel were born in early June, and had been with their mother, Ginger, who is a beautiful, mild-tempered, gentle 30 lb. red Heeler mix in rural Indiana. Because they' were together until recently, they can be a little shy with people, but will warm up quickly in their homes. The pups who have been adopted already are doing great. They are great with horses too as their pen in Indiana was next to a horse corral. They love to play and have sweet temperaments. Please fill out an application on our Web site and we will be in touch with you within a few days. They will be shown on weekends at our Meet and Greet events, usually held at Save A Dog, 604 Boston Post Road, in Sudbury.

Adopted

Hi there. My name is Chi Chi and I'm a ~9 month old Chihuahua. I weigh 7 lbs. I don't know why my owner gave me up, but sometime I pee submissively if someone big hovers over me or if I meet new people. Everyone knows I will outgrow that. My owners didn't take care of me because I got fleas and had a flea allergy. Anyway, my fur is growing back and you can see how cute I am. I'm hoping you won't be able to resist me. I'm sweet and cuddly, a real lap dog. I'm playful with other dogs and good with cats. I need a stay at home person as I have a tiny bladder. I might be too much energy for an older person. Please fill out an application and someone will be in touch with you. XXXOOO, Chi Chi

Chloe, ~ 6 months Female Rat Terrier  Mix
Chloe

Adopted

This gorgeous little dog is a ~ 6 mo. old female Rat Terrier mix, and approximately 10 lbs. She was raised indoors with 2 little girls, all up to date on vaccines, worming, etc. She is very sweet and gentle, loves to cuddle, sleeps under blankets all night. She is somewhat house trained. She is leash trained. Owners had to give her up or be evicted from their apartment. Her foster mom says: Chloe is sweet wonderful and gentle. She is not hyper at all, especially for a little dog. Loves to be held, will lay in your lap while you watch TV or work at your desk! And she will sleep in your bed, under the covers all night, once she's settled in (we don't recommend this in the beginning). Get her out before her feet touch the ground. She has been doing very well with potty training and she will use pee pads! Chloe loves to go for walks, gets excited when she sees the leash. She walks very well on a leash, really struts her stuff. We walk off leash also, in a safe area, she does good here also, does not run off! Loud voices can make her nervous, probably because she was raised by 2 little girls and their mom! She loves to play with other dogs, especially her pal, Chester! Chester and her play chase, she steals his toys! You will love her to pieces! She is available now.

Adopted

Gypsy is a beautiful spayed female Lab/Basset mix, which is a much desired breed as she has the Lab friendliness with the gentleness of a Basset. She is approximately 18 months old. She loves the water, running, playing and riding in the car. She gets along with other dogs, cats, horses and all people. The only fault I can find with her behavior is that she doesn't like to share her food with other dogs and will steal their food, so maybe she should be an only dog or with someone who will feed separately. Over all she is very loving and a very sweet girl. She is a candidate for obedience training, which Save A Dog requires for all adopted dogs. Please fill out an application online so that we can start the adoption conversation. We have meet and greet hours on the weekends and a limited number of private appointments available during the week.

Just cute and sweet beyond words! They each have a prance in their step and they have such bouncey personalities. Both were living in WV with a family so they are used to kids, but the owner worked nights and they barked when she was gone, so the land lord said they had to go. They are active and playful. They know how to calm down too and will cuddle up together on their kuranda bed. They are available on 10/19/11. We would consider placing them together.

Adopted

Nora is an adorable puppy who needs a nice home. Her foster mom says about her: She is absolutely blossoming. She is so much more confident than when she first came here. She is an excellent snuggler - I wake up in the morning with her curled up next to me, her chin on my leg. She likes to give kisses, is a good eater (especially when there is chicken involved), is playful with other dogs and entertains herself with toys as well, she is respectful of the cat, very quiet (I've only heard her bark a couple of times), and is submissive - I think she will be very easy to train. She is good in the crate - no noise at all - and keeps it clean and neat. She's an absolute love. Chandler, Emma, Joey, Monica, Nora, Phoebe, and Rachel were born in early June to their mother, Ginger, who is a beautiful, mild-tempered, gentle 30 lb. red Heeler/Collie mix. They have all been fostered since 5 weeks old and are good with all animals and respectful of cats and are very horse-savvy as their pen was next to the horse corral. Because they spent extra time with the mother and with their litter, they are not mouthy like typical pups. They are a little shy with people at first and in new situations. All the previous pups who were adopted are doing fine, so we expect the same for the remaining pups. They are playful and normal acting pups. They all have sweet temperaments. Please fill out an application on our Web site and we will be in touch with you within a few days.

Hi there! My name is Punkin because I was so little when I was born. I had a rough start to life, with fluid on the brain, but please don't hold it against me. I'm a lovable 10 month old puppy and I can keep up with all the other dogs I play with. Okay, sometimes I walk wobbly, but it doesn't even slow me down. I am being fostered with a Lab and a hound and they adore me! I LOVE to play with my toys and can entertain myself if you're on the phone or just busy. I love walking on leash and I love to play chase with other dogs. I'm a little shy, so I wouldn't be a good match for a family with young children. I'm good in my crate and promise to be very quiet. I'm doing great with house training too and mostly go outside for my bathroom needs. My foster mommy says I'm the best foster dog she's ever had! She says I have zest for life that is inspiring. My littermates and I were born on 11/24/10. Arnie, Bennie, Carter, Parker, and Zach are my brothers; Emily Rose, Jenny Lynn, Lola, and Punkin are my sisters. My mom, Lady, is a Husky mix and dad might be a Lab mix. My littermates have all been adopted and I'm still waiting for my special adopter to give me a chance. I promise I won't let you down. Please fill out an application if you would like to meet me. XXXOOO, Punkin P.S. Check out my utube video! Punkin will not be at the Oct. 8th and 9th meet and greets.
