I’m Allen, a 6-month-old, 14-pound Dachshund mix. I have cute scruffy hair so might be mixed with another wirehaired breed, or I might be a wirehaired Dachshund. I am good with handling and was very good for my bath when I arrived at Save A Dog. I was rescued along with Annie after we found ourselves lost and wandered up to a farm, where we were fostered before we came to Save A Dog. My Southern foster describes me as relaxed – I love to sit on my person’s lap and be petted. I loved being involved in daily activities on the farm and am ready to be your sidekick! I’m Annie, a 7-month-old, 21-pound Dachshund/Spaniel mix. Along with Allen (also up for adoption), I wandered up to a farmhouse in rural Arkansas, lost and in need of rescuing. Dash is a 4 year old Yorkie who is looking for a new forever home as his current owner has experienced a decline in health. He was well cared for and taken to the vet for annual check-ups. He is accustomed to being with his person at home and loves to sit next to you on the sofa. He grew up in a suburban setting with a fenced in back yard. He walks well on leash and loves the outdoors. While he is dog friendly, he has always been an only dog, so is best staying as an only dog. He is kid friendly to visiting children. He will alert with a bark if he hears noises or sees activity so would not be suitable as an apartment dog. He has a favorite ball that he plays with, but is not into toys. He will need grooming every 4-6 weeks.

Jasper, a 10 month male red and white Border Collie was given up by his elderly owner when she was about to have surgery. She could no longer provide for his needs given her impending surgery and recovery. Jasper was an inside dog, and is well behaved. He's not ball crazy, doesn’t heel nip, but plays nice with other dogs. He loves kids! He ignores cats! Arriving 10/29/23 and will need to be neutered but is available to be seen once the application process is complete.

Lola is a two year old spayed female Standard Poodle who was given up by someone who had too many dogs. She just got groomed so is a bit naked, but she's so happy to get the mats off. She weighs 55 lbs. She likes to lounge on the couch, play with other dogs, and get cuddles from the volunteers. She would do well in an active home. She likes children and other dogs. Lucy Lou, is a cute 6-month-old, 32-pound Hound mix from Louisiana. We realized upon further observation that she has some Basset features and not the Swissy as we originally thought! She loves to lounge on the sofa, but will also relax in a dog bed or her crate. She was found as a stray but she's really blossomed in in her foster homes! She loves to empty a toy box. The first thing she did in the foster home was to empty the toy box and she brought every toy over to the sofa. She's not a barker, but if she hears other dogs barking, she will join in. Lucy says, "I love everyone – I especially like playing with other dogs. I have lived with kids, too, and I’m very playful so would love a home with a playmate of some kind. I sleep well in my crate, I walk well on a leash, and I have good manners indoors even though I’m still a puppy. I’m a super-friendly girl! Tyson is a love bug, so chill and great with kids. His fur is like a norwegian elkhound. He weighs 50 lbs. He is a very affectionate cuddle bug. His foster mom says he loves going for walks, he is curious to meet people and other dogs. He enjoys the company of her grandchildren and will chase after a ball they throw for him. After a walk, Tyson will spend time curled up on his bed for a long nap. He wants to be near his people in the house but is great being left alone when you run errands. He is totally housebroken. He enjoys car rides. He’s looking for a family that will offer him the love he deserves.
He is a such a gentle soul and we heard that he has lived nicely with several little dogs. They were all brought to a WV shelter due to divorce. He has bright white teeth so the records have him as two, but he has some scarring on his ears from a previous hematoma, so we think he could be more like 3. He's a gentle soul.
