Kai, 10 weeks Male Malinois/Australian Shepherd  Mix   Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Kai is an 11 week old Mallinois/Australian Shepherd mix puppy, who was rescued along with his littermates at 5 days old, but had to be separated and bottle fed. As a result, he missed some early socialization and didn't learn bite inhibition. After two weeks in a local foster with three other dogs, he has come a long way and is looking for his Forever home. He would be best in an adult, older teen environment and would benefit from the company of a playful, female adult dog. He sleeps through the night, is now clean and dry, and is well on his way with house training. He takes regular leash walks with the family and has progressed to being able to walk near traffic and to meet strangers. He runs and plays in the fenced in yard, takes time out in his puppy pen, has a great appetite, and loves toys, chewers & filled Kongs. His favorite is to hang out with the resident dogs. Kai attended the first of a Puppy K class and did really well. He loves to learn and needs to continue with training. Vinnie, 20 weeks Male Coonhound/Pointer  Mix   Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Come and meet Vinnie, the handsome Pointer/ Tree Walker Hound mix. Vinnie is a delightful dog that loves every and all adventures. He lays down quietly while in the car ( he wears a harness and is buckled in), he enjoys his leash walks in the woods and especially loves to learn. Vinnie is respectful to the foster family’s 13 year old dog, and shares toys and is super playful with the three year old dog. He loves to run , he loves to explore, and he loves to be told he’s handsome (which he is). Vinnie would do well with an athletic family. The foster mom tried to do a little jogging with Vinnie to see if he would like that, and he just trotted along and loved the short run. Vinnie is too young for jogging, but once he is old enough, he probably would be a great companion. He needs to stay on leash because he still has ‘selective hearing’ . Wendy, 3-4 years old Female Lab/Weimeraner  Mix   Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Wendy is a 3 year old spayed female Retriever/Weimeraner mix who was rescued in SC. She is tall and thin in stature; weighing about 50 pounds. She will fetch a ball or toy all day if you let her. She has a very friendly, Labby personality! She is well behaved in her foster home and is house trained, crate trained and knows a good number if obedience commands. She was surrendered to the local shelter for knocking over the toddler in the home a few too many times with her tail and for escaping from the yard when she was left outside all day. For her safety, we are requiring a physically fenced yard. Wendy loves car rides and is just a really stellar dog who deserves a family/adopter who has the time for her. Rescue took in this two year old handsome boy, had him neutered and up to date on his medical. He's a sweet kitty and seemed to be loved at one point. He's an indoor cat. Winston, ~ 1 year old Male Welsh Terrier Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Winston is a 1 year old neutered male Welsh Terrier whose owner needed to give up because of the children. He is good with adults, but not children and supposedly not other dogs but we haven't seen that behavior. Like any terrier he will need ongoing behavior training and a dog sport. The groomer said he was fine with dogs at her place. He was nipping at the grand kids when they got too excited, but he has not bitten or made contact with anyone.
