Adopted
Antonio is 6 month old Wire haired Terrier who weighs 18 lbs. He was living on a hill and had to be captured. He and his siblings were climbing on the rocks like goats. He is friendly, but because he was not raised we children we are exercising caution. He will need to be neutered, but can be seen at our shelter before his appointment. We are a small shelter and private appointments are limited to those who fill out the online application at http://saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp.
Hi, my name is Bella Boo and I'm an adorable three month old puppy from St.Thomas. I'm looking for a loving family who can give me the attention I deserve. I'm an absolute sweet heart and I love o play and snuggle. If you're interested in adopting me, please fill out an online application. I paws-itively can't wait to meet you! I'm available as of 2/11/17.
Here's a short video of Bella-Boo playing with her foster parents dog. She's the little one!
Hi! I'm Cooper, a 5 month old sweet and loving puppy. I'm good natured and an eager to please boy. My confidence develops a little more each day as I develop and learn about the world. In the meantime I'm sensitive and try my best to understand what is expected. I'm never stubborn. My house training is in process; I still have accidents but I'm making good progress. I weigh 18 lbs.
I have been fostered with 2 cats and a female dog. The kitties make me nervous and they don't seem to like me so we all just keep our distance. Chances are, I'll be just fine with cats! I am submissive to the female dog and follow her lead. We play, share toys, wrestle and snuggle. I hope my forever home has another doggie for me to be friends with, but it's not a requirement. We chase each other in the fenced yard for fun. A fenced yard would be best for me so I can get plenty of exercise. Save A Dog is a small shelter and private appointments are limited to those who fill out the online application at http://saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp. Please check the Web site for drop in hours as well.
Hi I'm Cosmo and I'm 9 weeks old. I'm looking for a wonderful loving adopter who can be at home during the day as I'm too young for day care. I promise to love you and obey you, if you train me, of course. If you're interested in adopting me please fill out an online application at http://saveadog.org/application.asp Thank you! Here's what my foster mom says, "Easy confident pup, plays with my two dogs, takes their toys, plays tug of war, afraid of nothing! Eats well, poops after every meal, if you go out every 1-2 hours, no accidents! Settles in crate after a bit of whining and doesn't make a peep for 8 hours. Teething a lot, bites everything with his sharp little teeth, little kids may feel like that hurts." Check out his picture with the big lab. He's tiny, but fearless!
Daisy is a 4 year old Boxer/JRT mix who recently lost her home. Daisy is a very sweet, mellow kind of girl, she loves to cuddle, loves belly rubs, she'll put her paw up on you to ask for more. She is totally housebroken. Sleeps through the night until you're ready to walk her in the morning.
Daisy knows "sit, down, stay and come" commands. She loves long walks, may pull if she smells something interesting. After a morning walk, she likes to take a nap.
Loves to meet people with their dogs, enjoys other dogs, although, she doesn't like an extended sniff to her backside.
Daisy loves squeaky toys and chasing a ball. She loves chewing on a bulky stick or marrowbone. She enjoys car rides and loves being with her people. She just wants a family to love her and give her the attention she deserves.
Daisy loves to be with people, and is fine with strangers and dogs. She tolerates the cat but will occasionally chase. Daisy enjoys exploring the fields and woods and she loves running in open spaces and chasing balls as far as you can throw them. When Daisy retrieves balls, she likes to be rewarded with treats. She can swim a little bit, but prefers to chase the waves as they break on the beach.

Dozer is a two year old German Shepherd who needs a Shepherd-experienced adopter who is willing to take him to obedience training. His first owner did not socialize him and the second owner wasn't told that he's reactive to other dogs and to new people so he is giving him up. He has been working with trainer Paul Emerson of Family Dog Training in Hudson, MA and Paul feels that Dozer has a lot of potential. He's smart and is a fast learner. He is easily distracted with a ball. Family Dog is offering a full scholarship for Dozer's new adopter. Dozer is neutered and up to date on vaccines. Please apply at saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp. Dozer can be met via private appointment only.

Adopted
Honey and her sister Hazel came to us from the Virgin Islands and are available by appointment after we receive your online application. They will be placed separately. They are six months old and weigh around 8-10 lbs. They are young and are still learning house training. They are spayed and appear to be King Charles spaniel mixes, but the paperwork says Pom. It's probably Papillon. Honey has a slightly funny gait. The vet said it was her shoulder. If we can find a homeopathic home to give the right remedies, this should be correctly. No phone calls, please.

Opal is a very tiny mixed breed puppy. She's from the Virgin Islands where we call the dogs "Coconut Retrievers" because they all look like tiny Labs. She's available for adoption and will be at our shelter on Sunday 2/26 from 1-3 if you'd like to meet her. She's too young to stay at home by herself and too young and small for doggy daycare. A stay-at-home without small children would be ideal for her.

Wilbur is a 1.5 year old neutered male Beagle mix with a honeybun tail. He and his buddy Wiley were turned in by their owner after the landlord decided that pets were no longer allowed. Wilbur gets along great with his foster's grumpy crew of dogs and plays with the younger dogs. He is fine with the cats. He is house trained. A great little guy. Who couldn't fall in love with those eyes! He has the nose of a beagle, but he hasn't wandered from the yard. He will stay in the fenced yard. Wilbur is always on the lookout for anything that moves or smells good. He would be a counter surfer if he wasn't so short. He has little dog syndrome - tries to boss all the big dogs around, but his foster brothers and sisters have put him in his place. Wilbur needs a loving home with a fenced in yard and a family to love. Available 2/21/17.
Wiley is a 1.5 year old neutered male Beagle mix. He was turned in with his brother Wilbur by their owner after the landlord stopped allowing pets. Wiley is great with his grumpy foster siblings and very playful with the younger ones. He doesn't really pay attention to the cats. He is house trained. Wiley loves treats and it shouldn't take long to teach him some manners. He is a sweety. He wants Wilbur to sleep with him or a human to snuggle with. Wiley would do well in a family with another dog that will play and be his buddy, but it is not a requirement. He would love a yard to run in and a family to love. Please give Wiley the forever home he deserves. He has a luxating patella in the right hind leg. Xray provided. It doesn’t seem to bother him, but some vets might recommend surgery. It's best if you go with a holistic vet. He is available to be seen on 2/21/17. Apply at www.saveadog.org
