Hickory, 5 years Male Red Tick Coonhound   Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Hickory is a stunning five year old Red Tick Coonhound who was turned in by his hunt club as he wasn't that interested in hunting. He originates from SC and was housed with 10 other dogs who picked on him. His coat is a big ragged as a result and is indicative of a hard life. We've had many of these former hunting dogs over the years and most just want a place by the fire with easy access to a back yard. A country setting or even suburban where it's a quiet neighborhood would be welcoming for him. Large breed experience is preferred so that Hickory will have success in his new home. He is reputedly good with other dogs but given his history it might be best that he is lavished as the only dog or with a gentle female dog. He will be available after 1/25/21. He has done very well with crate training. He has no history with children so an adult home is preferred. He weighs 70 pounds. He is very quiet and well mannered.
