He is a good boy, but his owner had to relinquish him because after six months of being home with him she had to return to work. He had been raised as a house dog with a young owner in her early 20s. He has been her pride and joy, she cried so hard when she sent him to us but preferred that to having him fall into the wrong hands. He knows some basic commands and loves car rides. He is crate trained and kennel trained and has the best ears. He Like a typical bloodhound he is good natured. He needs someone who is experienced with the breed -- no exceptions. Moonshine, 7-8 years Male Chihuahua   Click on picture to enlarge Adopted LOVES KIDS! This ten pound, 7 to 8 year old chihuahua LOVES KIDS, gentle ones for sure. He came up from the south. His story: he was spotted in the road in Richland County SC. He was on his own and at imminent risk of being hit by a car. When a kind woman stopped he scurried off to the side of the road and just lay there waiting for whatever fate had in store for him. This little guy was covered in dirt and fleas. She took him home to keep him safe until rescue was secured for the duration of the stray hold. He has a permanently crumpled, deformed ear filled with scar tissue from old hematomas due to severe neglect of ear infections or possible ear mites. Whether this little 10 pound nugget was abandoned or simply a stray we do not know. What we do know is he had no microchip, was not reported as missing and was posted on every single lost on found site/page for the surrounding area. It has been weeks past the legal stray hold and no one claimed him. The Dog4u family welcomed him! A wonderful vet tech at one of the partner clinics fostered him while he was waiting to go north. Moonshine aka Professor Moonshine is heartworm negative by some miracle. He is great with dogs and kids, house broken and loves to hang out at the front office of the clinic helping make sure to keep the front desk staff entertained.
