Jolene is a three to four year old, 28 pound Dachshund/Heeler mix who came to us from Louisiana along with her seven puppies. Since her spay surgery, she has been living in a home with her foster mom and dad, two teenagers, a 16 pound Dachshund, and a 12.5 pound Chihuahua mix. After taking a day or so to size up her new roommates, Jolene warmed up to the entire household, giving kisses to everyone who would accept them. She is a pleasure to be around, shows no signs of aggression, gets along great with the two resident dogs, and likes to follow the family’s lead - being active if they’re active and mellow if they’re mellow. She appears to be house-trained and sleeps in a crate at night. Jolene happily walks on a leash but would appreciate having a fenced-in yard to run in, as she loves to play.
