Autumn, 5 months Female Golden / Sheltie
Mix
|
|
Adopted
Autumn is a tiny Golden Retriever who we think is possibly mixed with Sheltie. She's a baby, at 5 months old and weighing in at 29 lbs. Here's her video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sLwULWg9nrQ. She's a puppy so is going to need a part time worker or stay at home. Autumn is now available to meet. She was briefly adopted and returned due to her shyness. She will bond with one person and can be fearful with others. Once she knows you she is a typical fun puppy. She will need an experienced adopter who has experience with shy dogs. Due to her shyness a quieter family and older kids would better. Another dog will help to bring her out of her shell too.

Adopted
Buster is a big softy. His chunky looks don’t match his personality, pick him up and he melts into your arms, licking and giving kisses as fast as his tongue will manage. He has stunning green eyes. He loves his treats and is working on taking them gently and waiting his turn. If there wasn't so much competition from his siblings he would be a fast learner. He shows great interest in dogs and loves to play chase with them. Buster and his siblings Dandelion, Hershey, Berklee, Clover, Cadbury, Daisy, and Sparrow are 10 week old puppies from WV who have a rough start in their lives and are being treated for and a skin condition that could be sarcoptic mange so we are treating both homeopathically and conventionally. Currently they have thin or missing fur so we're going to give them a little time for the fur to come in and the itchiness to go down before we start showing them. We want them to be out of the woods when we send them home. We are looking for special homes for each one, once they are ready to go. They are currently in a foster home and under the care of our holistic vet. We prefer to find adopters who will take our lead on holistic care and good quality food so that they continue to grow and flourish. Because these pups are so young, we prefer stay at home/work from home/or alternate schedule families, so the pups get all the socialization and training they need at this age. A home without small children and other dogs would be preferred but can be discussed upon receiving your application. Please do not call. We can accept applications via our website, and phone calls will not provide you with any additional information than what you see on the website. We will provide updates as we have them. Thanks for your consideration.

Cadbury and his siblings Berklee, Buster, Dandelion, Daisy, Clover, Hershey, and Sparrow are 10 week old puppies from WV who have a rough start in their lives and are being treated for and a skin condition that could be sarcoptic mange so we are treating both homeopathically and conventionally. Daisy started out a little shy and would prefer to retreat to the puppy pen than to be picked up. Over the last two weeks she has blossomed into a confident puppy and when you least expect it, she will be the one who has crept onto your knee for cuddles. She is always offering her belly for tickles. Daisy shows great self-control and was the first to realize that sitting nicely would get her a treat, even when her siblings were jumping all over. Daisy and her siblings Berklee, Buster, Cadbury, Clover, Dandelion, Hershey, and Sparrow are 10 week old puppies from WV who have a rough start in their lives and are being treated for and a skin condition that could be sarcoptic mange so we are treating both homeopathically and conventionally. Dandelion is slightly bigger than her brother Sparrow, but with the same coloring. She might be petite, but plays like a tomboy and will be in the middle of any play fight with her bigger brothers. She is a confident puppy, but still loves to be held. Given the chance, Dandelion would prefer to play with my bigger dogs than with her siblings. She chases round the puppy pen following their every move. She is smart and determined. Once she had found a way out of the puppy pen, she proudly went back to show me how she did it. Dandelion and her siblings Hershey, Berklee, Buster, Clover, Cadbury, Daisy, and Sparrow are 10 week old puppies from WV who have a rough start in their lives and are being treated for and a skin condition that could be sarcoptic mange so we are treating both homeopathically and conventionally. FRECKLES, IN MEMORY. Freckles came to us with congestive heart failure. We did everything we could for him, bringing him to Tufts and Sudbury Animal Hospital. All the heroic efforts could not save him and he passed away on January 25, 2016. His medical bills, exceeded $2,000. Everyone who met Freckles fell totally in love with his gentle giant. His story is so sad: His owner was discovered by her relatives to be deceased in bed on Thanksgiving day. Freckles was right by her side and stayed in the house while the grieving family cared for him with visits. Dogs are such emotional beings we can't help but wonder about the effect such a profound loss had on his condition. While we are heart-broken for this magnificent dog, we are setting up a memorial page for him. If you would like to donate to Freckles expenses, we would be so grateful.

Harpo, 4 years Female Shepherd/Lab/Beagle

Adopted
Harpo is a 4 year old Shepherd mix who came up from Arkansas. She weighs 45 lbs. and is spayed. She is smaller than she looks in the pictures. She's friendly to people but will take some time to becoming acclimated to household noises. We feel another dog would help her to become comfortable quickly and help her develop confidence. She lived with the rescuer for the first 4 years of her life so is a bit traumatized by the transition, although she's in a foster home now and doing great! Here's what her foster mom says:
Update on Harpo
Harpo is a very shy girl who is slowly coming out of her shell. She is terrific on a leash and doesn't pull at all. She could care less about my cats even though they tease her by walking right next to her. If she can't spend her time next to you on the couch, she prefers to spend her time in her crate. We leave the door open and she settles right in. She is a very quiet dog and we have yet to hear her voice. Noises will scare her but she recovers quickly. She is an easy dog and will make someone a great friend. Older kids and suburban or rural setting would be best for Harpo.
Please apply if interested or come meet her at one of our meet and greet events at our shelter.. She will be at the Meet and Greet this weekend.
