Anna is a six month old Beagle girl who is the sister of Daisy. She weighs 15 pounds. They were dropped off at the shelter in West Virgina because their owner was not allowed to keep them. They are very sweet dogs. They get along with dogs, cats and children. Anna is the one on the right. Please apply online at saveadog.org. We will be placing them separately.

Antilla is a 10 week old male pup from St. Croix (where there is a pet overpopulation). The pups are flown with travelers and available a few days later after their health exams. Antilla is doing great! He sleeps through the night in the crate – no accidents. He has one vertebrae that is shortened but the vet expects he will live a perfectly normal life and that surgery is not necessary.
Antilla will be at the meet & greet on 3/3 from 12p.m. - 3p.m.

Bailey had a staph infection that was resistant to antibiotics, we are treated him holistically wit O-zone therapy, and homeopathic remedies. He is recovering nicely but still needs TLC His vet bill was over $1300, so we can use some donations to help this sweet little guy. Bailey is a 2 year old neutered male Chinese Crested (powder puff) who is friendly with dogs and kids. He doesn't know a stranger, as they say. He wraps his paws around strangers' legs, waves with his front paws and will lie in their arms forever. His quirks are barking at every car, truck, bird, big dog he sees, so he needs a securely fenced in yard until he is fully leash trained. He is not a dog for flea and tick drops so if you are of that mind-set, he is not the dog for you. He needs a home experienced with alternative treatments to the types of allergies that these little white dogs are prone to. BAILEY WILL BE AT THE MEET AND GREET ON 3/17 from 12-1:30

Don't be fooled by his age. Benji is a little live wire -- he acts like a two year old. And he loves everybody he meets! Adorable Bengie had a rough start to 2018. Bengie previously had an owner who treated him well -- even microchipped him, he he got lost and unfortunately was attacked by two big dogs. He lost an eye and was quite ruffed up but recovered well and his spirits are high. So, Bengie now rocks the pirate life! Bengie doesn't hold any grudges - he gets along great with the other small-medium dogs in his foster home. Bengie is super friendly with humans and is quick to hop up into your lap for a snuggle. This 7yr old 11 lb guy deserves only the best going forward! Sponsors will help with his travel expenses. He is very adoptable and quite active.

Bozzy is a 10 year old male Boston Terrier. He is playful and friendly with people and dogs. He is negative for heart worm and lyme, but has a heart condition. The ultrasound showed problems in two chambers, so we're looking for an adopter closeby who can work with us to give his heart meds. His blood pressure was normal after just a few weeks on the meds. Someone with a big heart who loves the breed would be ideal for him. Sponsors welcome. Since he's been on his meds he's improved greatly and is starting to play. He would be great for a senior or a single as he loves his time with his people. He's great with other dogs too.

Looking for an athletic pup? Gunner is your man! Whether it’s running next to you on your bike, pulling you on your skateboard, or just going for a hike Gunner is down. But if you are not up for an activity filled day don’t worry as Gunner will be happy to Netflix and Chill with you. Gunner had a rough start to life, living months in an all metal cage with no bedding or toys in Bermuda. Luckily he was rescued and sent to us. Besides some old scars on his back legs you would never know what this pup has been through. Gunner is a small 10 month old Boxer mix coming up right below the knee. He knows sit and is learning down. He also walks very well on a leash. He loves going on car rides, especially when they end up at the dog park. On top of that he gets along with all four dogs in his foster home (males and females).

I came up from WV on Sat the 10th but I caught the "doggy cold" so was not able to make it to my health exam, but now I have passed and am ready to meet you.

Hi, My name is Jewel and I'm a 46# Border Collie mix. I came up from GA with my pal Nugget. I'm 2. I love, love, love playing and frolicking in the snow - I bounce like a bunny rabbit! I am a big puppy at heart. Good with people, and other dogs, sit nicely for meals, and totally housebroken. Come meet me! I can jump high. I'm not sure I can jump a fence but I can sail over a baby gate with ease. It's just that I want to be with you, not that I want to get away, but a fenced in yard would be best for me. Hey buddy! I'm Megabyte! I'm a 9 year young westie/cairn terrier mix weighing, well, a little more than I should at 29 lbs. Yeah, it happens to the best of us as we get older, right? I'm a joyful, friendly guy and before I came to the PAWS program one of the shelter staff said I "looked like I was on happy pills all the time" because I'm always smiling and wagging my tail. I do love to smile and show off my underbite. I learned pretty quickly that my smile charms people and that usually gets me some treats! I love to explore while walking on a leash with you, and I'm pretty happy hanging out on the couch as well. One thing that does annoy me is when big dogs get right in my face - it freaks me out and I bark at them. I can also get a little nervous with young kids - they can be really loud and run around and get really close when I don't expect it, so I'd prefer a home with older kids or no kids. I swear, other than that, I'm a fabulous fella. Who can say no to this face? Arriving 3/4 and available 3/6. Note: During the vet visit he laid on his back the whole time begging for belly rubs. What a sweet dog.

Molly is a very sweet girl. Molly is the sweetest dog ever, everywhere she goes people fall in love with her. The vet said she will have many people that want her she's so amazing and gentle.
Molly has kisses for all, rides well in a car, walks well on a leash, and enjoys other dogs. She has not been tested with cats because there are none where she is. She's wonderful with children! She was pulled from a high volume southern shelter and despite her ordeal is very friendly and laps up attention. She calms quickly when you talk to her or sit with her. She does not react to other dogs passing by her. She is 2-3 years old. She weighs 50-55 pounds.

UPDATE: Sally became very ill a week after her spay surgery and she was hospitalized, but sadly she didn't survive. Sally will remain in all our hearts as a very sweet dog and her spirit will live on in her beautiful puppies. Her foster mom said, "Sally was quite the love bug with me; she was a beautiful soul and I will miss her greatly." We want to thank her foster mom, Susan, and all the volunteers who poured out their hearts and souls out for Sally. She knew such love at the end of her life and now she is in heaven. She touched many souls while she was here on this earth and it is in Sally's memory that we will continue the important work of rescuing homeless dogs.

Hi, My name is Twinkie and I'm a petite Pug mix. I like to play with other small dogs. I was adopted as a shy dog from a large shelter and I was in heaven when I lived with a little Shih Tzu. My little friend passed away and now I'm so lonely. My adopter thinks I'll be happier with another dog friend but she doesn't want to get another dog so feels I would be happiest with another dog. I'm still shy, especially with men. There was a teenaged girl in the family and I loved her. Please give me a quiet home where I can get used to my new surroundings at my own pace.
