Adopted
Baby is a very sweet six year old (DOB: 1/22/04) Saint Bernard mix who needs a new home because her family lost their home due to foreclosure. She is a favorite with our shelter staff because she is so easy-going and lovable. She is reputed to be mixed with beagle, but we don't see a speck of Beagle in her looks or behaviors. She weighs about 72#, but looks like a 50 lb dog and is shorter than a Saint. She is spayed and up to date on vaccines. Her fur is a medium length, nice and soft and thick She needs a family! She's housetrained and is safe in the house, so your stuff is safe when you're not home. She likes other dogs, especially puppies. A home without cats would be best because she wants to play/chase. She can pull on leash so needs some training. She likes belly rubs and does pretty well with sit and down. Please fill out an application prior to coming to meet her as she is in a foster home. Apply at www.saveadog.org and click Apply to Adopt.

Adopted
Callie is a gorgeous young female dog who was picked up w/her puppies as a stray in rural Indiana. She had been a very good mom as her puppies were all cared for & all were right by her side when animal control picked them up. Callie is a young dog & has the energy to go along with her age. She is a sweet girl in need of someone to care for her & teach her what life is really all about. She is a smart loving dog waiting for the family of her own & help her to be the exceptional dog that she is capable of being. She gets along well with other dogs & is very playful, and after nursing all those puppies, she does prefer to eat alone. She can be mouthy during play, a sign of the need for training and that she is puppylike (adolescent) in her behaviors. Training will go a long way with this gorgeous dog. Pictures do not do her justice. She weighs 48 lbs. Apply on our web site under Apply to Adopt to speed the process.

Charlie, 3 years Male Beagle

Adopted
Hi my name is Charlie. I'm a three year old neutered male Beagle. My mommy and daddy had to give me up because the toddler has allergies. I'm a good boy and friendly with everyone. My tail never stops wagging. I am also house trained. I would love a family committed to obedience training to help me be the best I can be, I am adorable too! I am available to meet now. Please apply online at www.saveadog.org to speed the process as I am in a foster home. Note from foster mother: Just to let you know that Charlie is doing great! I am no longer crating him at all. He has calmed down a lot. Stands quietly with my dogs as I prepare their food, gets excited as I am taking it to the crate but not obnoxiously. Sits for a treat, but he still needs some training on taking a treat gently. He also understands to stay back from the door when I go out so I don't have to worry about him racing out the door anymore. And he likes to sleep UNDER the covers. He will be a really nice dog for someone (who understands and loves beagles).

Adopted
Jeb is a very gentle 46 lb. male Sheltie/Lab/Catahoula, with a touch of hound mix pup who needs a great home. He is a very calm puppy, not hyper like a lab, but with the friendliness of a Lab. He is a super pup, crate trained and housetrained. He is red with brown and white spots (his pictures do not do him justice). His Massachusetts foster mom takes him on long walks and he plays with everyone he meets. He likes to hide in the tall grass and hop out at you, so cute. He is a dog who can settle down in a home, yet play like a puppy as well. He is a fantastic and lovely dog who will bring someone so much joy. We're looking for an adopter who will love and commit to him for life. He would love obedience training, like any young pup. Jeb is in a foster home so please apply online as we want to make sure he is here to meet you. He is a great dog!

Adopted
Oreo is a 2.5 to 3 year old Poodle mix who lost his home when his owner moved. He is very friendly and affectionate with people, cute as a button, but particular about his dog friends. He’s been in foster care with 5 cats and gets along with all but one of them. He loves to sit on laps and have his belly rubbed and sleeps through the night next to the bed. He’d rather sleep on the bed but the cats of the household have a different opinion on that. Please fill out an application and we will be in touch after the weekend. No phone calls, please, as we are short staffed this week.

Sassy, 14 weeks Female Airedale Terrier
Mix
|
|
Adopted
Sassy is a small 14 week old female terrier mix who seems to be part Airedale. She has a fuzzy face and a soft brown merle coat. She is as playful as can be, so would not be a match for an older dog, but a young dog or a family with dog-savvy kids would be great for her. Her history: She was sitting by the side of a busy road in rural Indiana and picked up by a shelter volunteer who took her home to foster her. She is good with cats, but plays rough with kittens. She will be available 11/20. Please apply to speed the process.

Scottie, 8-10 years Male West Highland Terrier
/ 12/1/10
|
|
Adopted
Scottie is an 8+ year old recently neutered male Westie. He's had a tough life so he could look older, but our vet thinks 8-10. He's a cute dog, but the breed is not for everyone. Think "little old man in a dog suit". Think curmudgeon. He's best with adults as the breed can be temperamental. Scottie was found living outside with Missy, the terrier mix, so we know that he's good with female dogs. He's shown himself to be sweet and compliant in the kennel. He is available to be seen now during our Meet and Greet hours (see home page). Please fill out an application if you're a serious adopter and want to speed the process. Westie or terrier experience is not a requirement, but would be ideal. At least someone who has successfully taken their dog through dog training and knows dog body language, is preferred.

Tia, 5 months Female Poodle/Terrier

|
|
Adopted
Tia is an adorable fuzzy, fluffy Apricot-colored five month old female Terrier mix. She could have some poodle, but has Wheaton or Norwich Terrier fur. Her little ears stand up and flop over at the tips. She's a very playful pup who will tire out most adult dogs. Oreo, her kennel mate, is tired of her, for sure. She would be a delight for a family who is terrier-experienced or at least dog savvy and willing to train. Her foster mom says, "Tia's disposition is as sweet as her appearance. She's a calm and gentle puppy. She keeps busy, busy checking things out and playing with her toys. When she takes a break, she sprawls out wherever she happens to be, but preferably at your feet if you're sitting, and loves a lap to cuddle on. She's housebroken and crate-trained. She sleeps through the night, 10:00 pm to 7:00 am. She's not anxious when you leave. She's fine with men and welcomes guests with tail-wags but no jumping or barking. In fact, she has barked only once in the two days she's been with us, when, from our kitchen patio door, she saw the Boston Terrier next door going for a walk...just a couple of quick woofs. For a puppy, she's pretty good about not getting into your stuff. All in all, she's a wonderful little pup!" She is available now. Our process is that you apply online, if possible, first so that we can begin the conversation of making the right match for dog and adopter. When you come to see her, we'll have your application on file ready to print out.

Adopted
Hi! I'm Ula and I'm a petite (9 pounds) Mini Aussie mix with soft fluffy fur and a delightful personality. I am good with other dogs and I love people (I love to be held). I wasn't raised with children, so no young ones for me, please. I am basically housetrained and love to play with toys. I can race around the yard (everyone seems to giggle when I do) but also settle down nicely in the house. I am in a foster home with three other dogs (all gentle) and we all get along great. I enjoy curling up on a soft dog bed at someone's feet at the end of the day. You can get an idea of my size by the picture of me on the chair. I'm tiny, so please be someone who understands tiny dogs. I would love to meet you so please apply online so we can meet.
