Amelia, 5 years old Female Beagle

Amelia is a five year old Beagle whose owner recently passed away. She has short legs like a Basset, but was registered as a full Beagle. She is the sweetest dog, great with dogs and kids, unknown to cats but has a gentle personality. She was discovered to be heart worm positive during her spay at Tufts. We're looking for a long term foster who will keep her through the "slow kill" method (Heartgard given every other week until she tests negative). She is crate trained but not house trained as she lived in a kennel. She was just spayed at Tufts so needs a quiet week to start out, which would work well for crating while you are house training her. She is microchipped and up to date on vaccines. She would do great with a fenced in yard so she could sniff to her heart's delight.
Bandit is a 7 year old neutered male Schnauzer who is looking for a new home. His owner passed away and a friend of the owner brought him to Save A Dog. He is such a sweet boy. He was raised an only dog, is fine meeting dogs on the trail, but would do best as an only. He will chase cats, so no kitties. Bandit likes squeaky toys and soft toys. He's a good boy who needs a home. He's available now.

Bendi is the sweetest most calm puppy ever. She seems to be as content playing by herself as she is with other puppies. She plays nicely with older small dogs and loves to lounge around the house after playing. What a dear dear puppy. She is sure to win your heart very quickly, loves to be held and cuddled. Adorable best describes her and she loves her toys and puppy bed. She is a nine week old puppy.

My name is Bones. I LOVE to run and play. My best friend, a little female, was at the shelter and when she got adopted I moped for 3 days until finally one of the volunteers decided to foster me. Now I run with her 4 little dogs and we have a ball. But I can't stay here for ever because other dogs need a home. Won't you please adopt me? I’m not mean but I will stand my ground if another dog picks on me. I’m actually somewhat shy at first but I will warm right up once I get to know you. I would do best with another little dog friend that I can run and play with as I am very playful pup – I’m only about a year old. I’m a very good listener (just look at my ears!).BONE WILL BE AT THE MEET AND GREET ON SAT 11/19 FROM 12-3 PM.
Collene is a 1 year old Cairn Terrier mix who deserves a great home. She came from Louisiana where she was brought to the local vet in Springhill, LA where she would be euthanized if Lumberjack Rescue did not pull her. Dawson is a 7 month old neutered male English Springer Spaniel pup. His birthday is 3-7-16 and he weighs 35 pounds. He is very Friendly to people and dogs. Please be someone who knows the breed and could provide adequate exercise and training. Dawson is a dog we could adopt in a heart beat, but we don't operate like that. Diamond is a very smart ACD heeler who is a one-person dog and prefers females. She is 2 years old, weighs 35 lbs. and is already spayed. She is 4DX heart worm and tick disease negative, and is house trained. She does however fixate very quickly on “her person” and wants to be close to who ever that is. We recommend her as an only dog. She really would love a job. We now know that a single adopter is best for her. Diamond was briefly adopted and returned, through no fault of her own. Diamond will be your loyal protector and companion. She's in foster care in Northboro but can be brought to Sudbury at our shelter for you to meet once we receive your application.

Emma is an adorably playful 9 week old female pup who needs a great home. She is innocent and just darling. All she knows is to play and love. Everything is a wonderful new adventure to her. She is the perfect remedy for the post-election blues!
FLOWER WILL NOT BE AT TUESDAY'S MEET AND GREET NOV 1 AS SHE'S GETTING SPAYED. Flower is a beautiful Lab mix. Flower and Thumper were abandoned on a logging road. Loggers were feeding them and then called Lumberjack Rescue. A shelter worker went out to look for them and found them curled up on a shirt in a ditch with some food and water the loggers had left for them. She weighs 26 lbs and is from Louisiana. Estimated available after 10/25/16.
Flower's foster mom writes:
A bit fearful about at first but still curious and warms up quickly once she realizes there is nothing to fear
-Has never been aggressive when scared
-Gets along with all the dogs and even knows to give my grumpy female space
-Loves the water
-Completely lights up when other dogs are around. Definitely gets her confidence when she see the others dogs are fine
-Loves her bully sticks and soft toys
-Never had an accident in the house and went to the bathroom outside pretty quickly
-Knows sit and is quickly picking up lay down
-Sleeps in my bed and must curl up right next to my face
-Although I let her sleep in my bed she is totally fine with the crate. Never makes a peep especially when she has her toys in there

Hi there, My name is Otis and I am a Rat Terrier mix. I weigh 10 lbs. I was given up by my owner because I was "too needy." I'm a really good boy and no more needy than any other dog. My sibling Milo was rescued with me. We were from the same litter but went to different homes, a mother and daughter and both decided to give up on us. They said we were "always underfoot" so now we are homeless. We can go to separate homes. We're both so happy just to be allowed to live because we were brought to a kill shelter and our time was almost up before Lumberjack Rescue saved us. My brother and I play and play all day. We are not barkers and we are working on house training.

Reece is one of the smaller siblings of the ACD litter. She likes to observe all that goes on around her then happily joins in on all the fun. She is a dear, lovable little pup who enjoys playing outdoors and being cuddled. She was born on August 25th. She can be seen on 11/22/16.
Reno is a happy playful male puppy, very social and quite a little rascal, loves exploring the outdoors and spending time playing with other puppies and small dogs. Has done well with cats. Reno was born on August 25th.
Roxie is a playful whimsical adventuresome little puppy always looking for something new to explore and conquer. She is very loving and when not playing likes to be held and talked to. Her birthday is August 25th. She looks like her Mom.

I would love a fenced in yard in which to play. I'm young and love to chase a ball. My owner gave me up because I didn't turn out to be the breed they wanted. They were told I was a Weimeraner. Please don't give up on me. I will be your forever loyal friend. My tail never stops wagging. My foster mom says about me: Smiley is very energetic and very intelligent, she knows "sit, down, stay and come" commands. She is housebroken.
Walks well on a leash although will try to chase a passing car. When meeting new people she is timid at first but warms up quickly and smiles a crooked smile.
Loves other dogs, male and female- will always do a play bow upon meeting them. Has an interest in squirrels but is easily redirected.
Smiley is very "treat motivated", loves a tennis ball, squeaky toys and bully sticks to chew on.
She crates nicely and sleeps well in the crate all night. She loves playing with a tennis ball and squeaky toys. Loves walks, but does chase cars. She was fearful of Halloween decorations on houses, was interested in rolled up newspapers, trash cans, a fire hydrant but she is becoming more familiar with all of these now. Also interested in squirrels, but easily redirected.
Smiley is very "treat motivated", loves a bully stick. She has had no resource guarding, I have added a treat or two to her bowl while she eats.
Sparky is a neutered blonde terrier mix whose owner died. Relatives stepped in to care for him but called rescue for help. He's 7 yrs young and weighs 21 lbs. He's fine with other dogs and with all over handling.
He has a sight issue - he has chronic superficial caratitis, for which he takes drops. Once he's here we will also try homeopathic remedies and supplements. He is comforted by touch.

Weezy is a just under two year old Keeshond whose owner passed away. She is great with cats, dogs, and humans. She is a little afraid of cats. She's gentle and sweet. She rides great in the car and is house broken. She is shy at first, but warms up nicely. She is available 11/22/16.
