Amber, ~ 6 months Female Golden Retriever / Chocolate Lab  Mix
Amber

Adopted

Amber is a Golden Retriever mix puppy who is pure LOVE and always seems to have a wagging tail!!! She is approximately 6 months old and has the most amazing amber eyes with a beautiful cream and caramel coat. Amber is a generally friendly and sweet dog, but she is afraid of toddlers and young children. We're hoping to find her a home with adults and ideally another dog to play with. She is house trained. She weighs around 30 lbs. Her vet believes she will be approximately 40-45 lbs when full grown. Amber's last home had another dog, two cats and a teenager, but the owner's working hours increased and she didn't feel it was fair for Amber -- we agree. Young pups need people at home. She is well socialized and gets along well with all dogs and has learned to treat the cats gently. Amber is fully crate trained, walks well on a leash, enjoys car rides and has learned many tricks through clicker training. She can sit, shake, lie down, roll-over and give a high-five. Amber would do best with someone who could spend as much time with her as possible and continue her training. Please help our Adoption team by filling out the online application so that we can have it ready when you come to one of our weekend Meet and Greets, I.e., shelter hours.

We believe in giving pups like Barley a chance at life and in turn, giving a family a chance at adopting a puppy and giving him a fresh start. Adopted

Buddy is a really cool dog. He looks like a miniature Husky. He weighs about 25 lbs and is almost full grown. He loves to play, play, play so would love another dog or dogs to play with. He came from a place where there are a lot of rescued dogs playing together all day. His foster mama knitted him a sweater to keep him warm when playing outside as he's not a long-haired Husky. He is a cute pup and not one to sit alone all day while you are at work. Huskies do not do well being crated so crating should be minimal for this playful guy. He would be great with tweens and up. He will be available 11/17. Apply online so you don't miss out. Our Meet and Greet hours are posted on the Web site.

Adopted

Here is Ducky; he is the cutest little short guy, maybe a year old. He is a happy guy, maybe has some basset or corgi as he has very short legs. They named him Ducky because his feet are like a duck. He came from a rescuer who had too many dogs, so he was allowed to come to Save A Dog where he can find a nice home. He is well socialized with other dogs and would be great for the dog park or day care (if you work). He hasn't been kid tested, but seems very friendly so maybe could go with someone who has teens and up or visiting children. Please apply if you're interest. He is available 11/1/12.

Adopted

Gypsy is a 1 year spayed, lab mix. She weighs 44 lbs. Gypsy had her pups under a shed and a family in the neighborhood started taking care of her and the pups. Now it is Gypsy's turn for a new life Gypsy is very sweet and loving; she walks very well on a leash, rides great in a car and is crate trained. She is a quiet dog, very little barking; she is housetrained and will hold as long as it takes. She already knows some basic commands, like Sit. She loves to play with large dogs, she plays with her foster brother and he is 85 lbs, she respects fences and does not try to get out. Her most favorite thing is laying on a soft dog bed with a toy. She is not a needy dog, but loves to be loved on. She is not mouthy or jumpy and is very smart and could learn many tricks with a little effort. Her one vice is that she will chase cats so she should not go to a home with cats. She is a great dog and deserves to have a family that will love her. She is available around 11/17/12.

Adopted

Libby is a 3-4 mo. old who is (we're guessing) a Rat Terrier / Cattle Dog mix who weighs about 12 lbs. Our vet thinks she's got Boston Terrier in her. She's petite so may say a 20-25 lb. dog. She loves attention, loves to lay on your lap and be pet at night while you watch television. She is housebroken. Sleeps in a crate at night for 6-7 hrs. Then she will need to be let out to do her business. She runs and plays with all the foster dogs, loves attention. She thinks all the treats and toys are hers so will need training, of course but already knows sit, no, lets go. She was nervous meeting children, so we think she needs a little more socialization. She does fine with teens, does great with cats and larger dogs. She's an adorable pup who is waiting for her forever home. Please come meet her during our visiting hours on Sat, 11/3.
