Alvin is a 7 year old neutered Schnauzer/Terrier mix. He is the sweetest dog you will ever meet and he loves walks -- he's great on leash too. He has a calm personality and likes dogs and cats equally. He's house trained too. He is a nice size at 18 lbs. Alvin had a rough life and lost his front teeth, top and bottom. He has his back teeth, but does best with a soft diet or mini-bites food. He seems to like kids too.

Adopted

Benji is a 5 year old neutered male Basenji who was given up because one of his human parents became very ill. His other parent is spending all her time at the hospital so cannot care for Benji and her other Basenji, Sassy. Owner says they are not bonded so can place them separately. They are a manageable size at 25 lbs. each. They are full blooded Basenji's. Sassy is in the front of the photo and is black, white and brown. Benji is in back and to the right and is brown and white. They were kept up to date on vaccines and were altered. Benji will chase critters, including cats. Both were kept inside with several walks a day, not in the city, so we would prefer a suburban or rural environment. They were not raised with children but visiting older children would be ok.

Adopted

Biscuit is finally here and is ready for her forever family. She has made wonderful progress and is ready to start her new life with a family that will give her the love she deserves. She would like to have a canine companion, preferably a male. She will need a fenced yard - no exceptions. We just want to keep her safe at home until she has adjusted and bonded with her new family. Biscuit has no separation problems, is house and crate trained and is happy being inside but also likes spending lots of time outdoors swimming, going for walks and then snuggling inside on the couch. She likes older kids and adults of all ages and LOTS of toys, especially her deer antler. She has been very loved by her foster Mom and all the other dogs in the household and has done very well living with the family cat. She is not a big fan of riding in the car as it makes her a bit anxious. At times she is fine, but at other times will drool and get a little sick. We feel this could change with time and patience. Come meet Biscuit, she may be a bit shy at first but will soon relax and enjoy the attention. She likes soft words and gentle pats. If you are that committed forever family, come meet this sweetheart and make her your newest family member. She will not disappoint you!

  Brandon, ~ 1 year Male Bully/Terrier  Mix
Brandon
Brandon   Brandon

Adopted

Brandon is a one year old Terrier/Bully mix. He is so quiet in his kennel, never makes a peep ever. He knows his basic obedience commands, but he plays rough like a Bully breed and he has the size of an English Bulldog with a look of a Jack Russell. He has a lot of drive so is not for your average dog owner but for someone who wants to take him far or train him for a dog sport or a job, he would be fabulous. He's like a big puppy. He loves tennis balls and if you toss a ball he's in HEAVEN! He is a happy playful boy with dogs and people. He's 33 lbs which is a nice size for traveling or hiking. He's like a big teenager sometimes and gets excited jumping and some hard mouthing so teens and up would be best. Aside from his mouthiness, Brandon has many qualities. One of the volunteers who has been working with him writes, "During his day time outings Brandon walks beautifully on leash. He takes long strolls with his dog friend and loves to stop and smell. He never tugs or barks at passing dogs or people and meets other dogs politely. Car riding is a joy with Brandon. He loves to curl up and nap in a dog bed while riding and occasionally peeks his head out the window. In the house Brandon is so quiet and never barks but likes to be busy. With dog toys scattered in the house Brandon enjoys a game of bringing each toy outside. Brandon is still a pup and needs to learn boundaries of not jumping on his person and play biting. He's a good boy. While we're preparing his meals, he does an amazing sit position waiting patiently and never counter surfs. He has so many great qualities but needs strong leadership so he learns that his occasional jumping is not acceptable." He will be shown at our Tuesday, Saturday and Sunday Meet and Greet events at our shelter.

Chewy is "almost" housebroken with only occasional accidents. He can be just a little bashful with new people, but warms up quickly! His cute little tail never stops wagging and will even roll over and ask for a belly rub! He likes other dogs and cats. Needs a new best friend....could that be you??

Adopted

Froggy is an adorable little (under 10 lbs.) female one year old Peke/Maltese Toy breed who came to us from animal control. She is just adorable and would love to sleep in bed with her people. Please be someone who has the time for this little darling. We don't know if she was raised with children or not so we'd prefer she go to an adult home. Visiting children would be fine. She was in heat upon arrival so her spay date is Oct. 16th at Tufts. Her foster mom says, " She has never met a stranger - very friendly, loves to be held and cuddled, will risk her life to sleep in bed with people - she is a definite sleep in the bed dog; no food, toy or bone issues with people or other dogs; met cats for the first time, is fine with them. she's interested in playing but isn't pesty about it; seems housebroken without being crated; we have left her home alone loose in the house for a couple hours without incident. We have also gated her into a bedroom without incident; when we are home she follows us room to room; digs on people when snuggling - may be s challenge for elderly skin; eats cooked chicken or high quality canned food (not into kibble so needs a high quality wet food or raw).
