Bee

Adopted

Bee is wonderful dog who is going to light up someone's life. She's spayed, 49 pounds and is 2-3 years old. She loves people,is well behaved and gets along great with all dogs, large and small. She is totally crate trained. She came from a rural shelter, she had an old break that required an FHO (the shelter did not notice she had any issues because she ran and played normally). She had the FHO done on 6/26/19 at the specialty center with a board certified surgeon. She barely missed a beat after surgery, her recovery was remarkable - it was the fastest recovery the vet had seen (she was weight bearing within a week!). She was cleared for adoption and regular exercise on 7/15 and has just been waiting for a ride north. Bee doesn't take a bad step and is totally ready to go (no rehab etc). Bee is great with small dogs and big dogs, loves people, and is totally crate trained. She has some silly puppy qualities (occasional zoomies and puppy moments) and still loves to play but she equally wants to lounge around the house and snooze. She is very well behaved and does fantastically when out with you on your errands. Below is a video of Bee on her first adventure to the park, it's about 3 minutes long but you can see her jumping in and out of the vehicle and trotting along on her hour walk tracking normally (her gait is great). She is fully healed from her FHO procedure and ready to go. Check out Bee's video by cutting and pasting this into your browser: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_g3c6Tq0hjQ&feature=youtu.be&fbclid=IwAR3DGnLnkMDLICo1ukhhrKJtf7y9wI9MlhdjHYf_gtSDu65Ji9SWfAM68b She's good in the car and is a great dog! She'll be available for Thursday's meet and greet 9/5.

Adopted

BREE HAS A HOME BUT WE'RE GETTING HER SISTER DENISE AND SHE IS FABULOUS TOO! Bree came to Save A Dog with her sibling, Andy who was recently adopted. They came from SC and were born on 4/15/19. Recently, Bree attended the Pet Rock adoption event and our volunteer dog handler had nothing but wonderful things to say! She LOVED walking up to all humans just to say hi to them - old, young, stroller, wheelchair, kids, men, women- nothing deterred her and she was so gentle with every single one of them! She was also phenomenal with other dogs. She would very politely go up to them and sniff until they showed interest too. She never pounced on or barked at a single one. She even went up to huge Great Danes and St. Bernards with no fear whatsoever. With so much going on at the event, she was so calm and kept her manners in check! If you are interested in meeting Bree, please fill out our online application.

Bunny is a recent return who is being re-evaluated for adoption. We're reassessing her dog skills but the first thing she did was give her friend Chunky a sniff and a wag. An ideal home would be an at-home or part time worker who is dog experienced and who has a fully fenced in yard where she can get plenty of exercise. She needs exercise and reward-based training. She's around two years old.

Adopted

Chipmunk aka Chippy is a 2-3 year old very laid back dog who is friendly with everyone. Foster mom in Louisiana says he sleeps in living room, doesn't give anyone any trouble. He is co-existing with a lot of dogs but it would be great if he had his person who adores him. He weighs 50 lbs. He was a stray when he came in and was starved and had skin issues as a result of poor nutrition. He's all healed up now. The rescue was full so he stayed in the outdoor kennels at first, then when it was his turn to come into the house to stay, they gave fluffy bed and he was so grateful. Wow, this dog deserves a great home!! He likes to go for rides in the truck or car. Chippy is very quiet, laid back, and LOVES a big fluffy, comfy bed! He sleeps on his back on his bed in his kennel. He never had an accident in his kennel and never chewed on his bed. His gratitude for something as simple as his bed broke my heart. He’s big and at times has a “Pitbull” look so everyone turned him down. He needed a special place so I’m glad he found me and then you. Chippy has been around men, women, children, cats, dogs, and puppies. He and Bobby are buddies. Chippy would give my the 4 year old kisses. The elderly Chihuahua, Archie, would bark and go crazy every time Chippy would pass his kennel and Chippy didn’t acknowledge him. Chippy also didn’t acknowledge the cats walking around. Chippy also loves riding in the car! Available 9/4/19.

Adopted

Ian is a mixed breed pup who is coming up on 11 weeks old. At first we thought Beagle, but we're leaning towards Boxer/terrier. He's beyond adorable and having lots of fun in his foster home getting ready for his forever home. Ian is currently in a foster home with three adult dogs and gets along with all of them. He loves to be outside running around, exploring the garden, and chasing balls. He is interested in, but wary of, the family chickens! Ian loves all people, gives the best kisses, and is always happy to snuggle on your lap. He sleeps through the night in his crate/pen combination without a sound. He's a typical curious pup who deserves a great home. He was originally abandoned in Louisiana. He needs a stay at home or part time worker as he is working on house training, proper socialization, etc. He will need puppy classes and lots of love! We prefer local adopters as we do not feel comfortable sending young puppies so far away. We prefer stay-at-home or work-from-home adopters. Please apply online on our website at http://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp

Kiddo
Kiddo   Kiddo

Adopted

KIDDO WILL NOT BE AT THE MEET AND GREET ON 9/28. Kiddo is a 9 lb Min Pin / Yorkie mix who is a small bundle of fun. Kiddo may be part min pin, but she surely has some terrier in her, too, probably Yorkie. She weighs 9 pounds, so she's a little squirt. She barked at the robotic cat so we're not sure about cats, but she would probably be fine with a confident cat. She was initially feisty on leash with other dogs, but she plays nice with the male Yorkie in her foster home. She got to know a big German shepherd pup, too, so she can co-exist with another dog nicely. Kiddo does like children, but being so small, the kids would need to understand how to treat her gently. She likes to play and is fun to watch, but even though she feels big, she's not! She's in a foster home so will only be at our shelter by appointment (we need to receive an application before arranging a meeting). Apply at http://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp

Adopted

Two year old Fuzzy spayed female terrier, weighs 28 lbs. Foster dad writes, "I've had the pleasure of fostering Rascal for a month. Rascal was rescued from a rural shelter in central FL with a high euthanasia rate. Rascal was super excited to get out of the shelter and gave me lots of kisses thanking me for saving her! She and Emily, her foster sibling, got along great together in the car ride home together.

Within a week of getting Rascal out of the shelter, we made our way to the secluded yet beautiful Jupiter and Walton Rock dog beaches. Rascal loves going for hikes and runs; keeping up with the bigger dogs is no problem for her! Rascal is quite social and enjoys playing with all dogs, including my personal dog, other fosters and dogs she's met along our travels. Rascal is completely housebroken and has been since day one. I get the feeling she had a home before she ended up in the shelter. She walks great on a leash and doesn't pull much at all. Rascal was quite the spoiled pup when it came to treats and toys. She was given and devoured the following: bully sticks, bully braids, and chew hooves. Rascal just loves cuddling you and giving you kisses. She makes it her mission to give you lots of unconditional love. While she prefers cuddling up to you in bed, she does great at sleeping the whole night in her dog bed too. She loves following you around the house. If you go into the kitchen to cook, she follows you and plops down right next to you. She is a wonderful companion! Ready 8/27. Scooby is a neutered 1 year old male. He's a super laid back, shy boy who does best with other dogs and a fenced in yard. He is as sweet as can be but very shy when meeting new people. Another dog will help him to feel at ease in his new home. His records say Lab/Mastiff, but we thought Dane by the markings, except he's only 50 lbs. He was saved from Florida just before the hurricane. He’s super smart and tries his best to understand everything that’s going on around him. He loves to cuddle. He played very well with his foster friends. Loves sticking his head out the window on car rides and does very well off leash once he's trained on a recall to you. Loves going for walks and hikes. He’s completely housebroken and does very well when left unattended in the house. He’s very well mannered. He doesn’t jump on you at all. Would do best with a small, quiet family- teens and up because he gets overwhelmed in large crowds.
