Asia, < 1 year Female Whippet/Italian Greyhound
Mix
|
|
Adopted
Meet Island Beauty, Asia!
Asia has a very sweet disposition with a very fine aristocratic flair. She is petite and gentle aat 22 lbs. She is shy but overcomes it once she knows you are a friend, which according to her foster mom, took less than a day at her house. She is more interested in you and other dogs than children but is gentle so would be fine in a home with them. She loves to cuddle and have her belly rubbed. She is house broken, eats well and sleeps through the night fine. She can be very playful, or sit calmly. She is fine on leash, does not pull and interacts with dogs well. Her little voice will tell you when someone is coming by the house and after a shy greeting. After she warms up she is very friendly and confdent but it does taek her a little while. Her tendency to shy away from people at first has helped us decide that a fenced yard would be best in protecting her from flight. Good with other dogs, but not with cats.

|
Adopted
B-Dog Is a gorgeous Yellow Lab mix looking for his forever home. He is friendly and joyful like a typical yellow Lab. He lost his home because his family was moving. He is a local dog and has been on heart worm preventive. He is being neutered next week, but can be seen this weekend. He will be available to go home after his neuter. He is a handsome boy who loves long walks on the leash (he has not been off leash yet) and he loves car rides and is very well behaved in the car. He is house broken and learning crate training. He is smart too; he went through obedience training and his previous owners taught him many commmands (sit, stay, lie down, crawl). He doesnt know about water so we're introducing him to the pool. He is used to being allowed on the couch. His experience with kids is aged 10 and older and cats are just something for chasing! This boy deserves to be in someone's home soon so please fill out an application to come meet him.

Cruz, 8-9 months Male Australian Cattle Dog
Mix
|
|
Adopted
Cruz is a wonderful adolescent dog looking for a home. He's wonderful with other dogs, is very submissive with people. He was originally found sitting next to a stop sign in a rural area in TN. He looks to be a purebred, but we cannot confirm that. Cruz is very sweet and is loving all the attention he is currently getting in foster. He is so beautiful you can't get enough of him and he LOVES the water, even if it's just a water bowl. Cruz will play with all the other foster dogs, even little Cooper, but no cats please -- he chases them. He is very quiet in his kennel and is house trained with a dog door. He also is great with children, giving big sloppy kisses for kids. Cruz needs a dog savvy adopter as he is a working dog and very intelligent. He would be a great dog for dog sports: dock diving, agility, rally, trieball, etc. He must have something to keep him active and mentally challenged.

Duke, 1-2 years Male Rhodesian Ridgeback
Mix
|
|
Adopted
SUCH A COOL DOG! Duke is a one year old Rhodie who is friendly and outgoing. He looks bigger in his pictures but he is only 50 lbs. He is very calm and would be a great dog for retired folks at home who love to walk. From his Foster: At home here he follows me everywhere but not under foot. Duke loves watching the TV, fascinated by the weather people especially. He stays next to me on the couch, not a sound from him. Slept quietly most of the night. Seems house broken. Met some other dogs on a good walk this morning - timid but curious, not interested in people too much, but is fine around them. He has little bursts of energy and will chase a ball around the back yard, running around in big circles, but he likes chilling on the couch most of all. Energy level right now is moderate. Sweet boy. He deserves the best. Not too fond of the car yet, he may never have been in one except to come here.

Finn, ~ 2 years old Male Pom / Mini-Australian Shepherd
Mix

Adopted
GREAT WITH CATS!
Finn is a 15 lb. Pom/Aussie mix who is a nice little dog who needs a dog-savvy adopter. He's an adorable little dog who needs an experienced adopter. An adult home with someone who understands the small dog attitudes will bring him far as he is a delightful little dog. He was originally raised with another female dog and he's good with cats. A dog who is opposite sex would work best for him. He's great on leash, doesn't pull, just trots along with you. He loves to find a sunny spot in which to nap. He is a sweet boy and loves love. He has a little dance he does on his hind legs, waving his front paws to greet you when he sees you. He wasn't raised with children and we suspect he might have been teased by children early in his life. Finn is at the shelter and would love to meet you.

Goodness Gracie!
Beautiful young girl saved from euthanasia! She comes to us from St. Thomas Humane Society.
She's a medium size 35lb. lady that is looking for a family to love her. Look at her expressive face just asking " what are you waiting for?"
But in the meantime, we LOVE having Gracie with us. She's so gentle and quiet, in fact we haven't heard a peep from her! Gracie will want to share activities with you, so if you are a jogger, she will be a great running partner. She is good on leash and around other dogs. She went to the farmers market and was not phased by all the people, strollers, joggers and other dogs. She is currently fostered with several dogs. She has met and liked young children (6 and up).

These three puppies were rescued in TN from a high kill shelter. There are 2 females Jackie and Jane and 1 male Jethro. They are in foster care and just adorable; growing quickly. Their coloring is gorgeous. Momma is a Tri colored Terrier Mix about 25-30 pounds. They are very sweet active puppies which are well on their way to house training. They are teething and will need lots of toys to chew. They do very well with children, but because of their chewing and high energy small toddlers probably would not be a good match. These pups have the most beautiful cooper/red coats that the pictures just do not do justice. They will be available Saturday at our Meet & Greet 12-3 at our shelter. Please fill out an application if you are interested in meeting them. www.saveadog.org.

Mo (Maureen), ~ 1 year Female Manchester Terrier
Mix
|
|
Adopted
Mo needs a home! She is so smart and so loving. We cant believe she's still here! She's a mutt with a Manchester Terrier look, but much smaller and more square like a Retriever. She was abandoned on a golf course. She is tad timid at first and startles at quick movements but warms up very quickly. She is good on a leash especially alongside another dog. A fenced in yard is what we would like to find for her and she would love another dog friend. Mo is such a sweetheart and so smart and eager to learn. She took ques from other dogs at a pond and learned to love the water. She will blossom in a dog-savvy home. She loves to chase a ball and she plays nice with other dogs. She's still very much a puppy inside with her play behaviors. She and Duke are rough and tumble together. Mo loves to play and she is learning "off" so we think kids 10 and older best for her as she's a big puppy who needs to learn the ropes. She cat tested fine and rides in the car well too.

Adopted
Tilly is a silky terrier, 9 lbs spayed 4-6 yrs
Little Tilly has not had an easy life, but doesn't hold it against humans. This little darling is so precious all you want to do is protect her from anymore sadness. Tommy and Tucker are her puppies, they were dumped off on a farm in TN in a field. She had been bred many times, it took its toll. She has been fostered and is thriving now. She likes to play with the other dogs but what she mostly needs now is someone to just love her. She is a snuggle bug, and wants to keep close (not surprising), she is being spoiled to the fullest extent right now.Tilly walks on leash everyday. She is 100% house trained with a doggie door. Good with kids and dogs, not tested with cats but we can't imagine it would ever occur to her to be mean. She has had dental work and had to have some teeth pulled due to no routine care. Also the inside of her little ears have some scarring due to ear infections that were never treated. All in all she is in good health despite everything. She deserves the perfect home with someone around a good deal of the day and a calm environment.

Tommy, 14 Weeks Male Silky/Yorkie
Mix
|
|
Adopted
Meet Tommy and Tucker! These sweet little Yorkie mix puppies along with their Mother Tilly were dumped off at a farm in rural Tennessee. With a good diet and lots of love and attention they have really flourished. These little fellows have an energy level of a pup to show off. They play hard and rest rest hard. They don't mind their crate at all. Tommy and Tucker prefer to potty outside, but still have accidents since they just don't know how to give a signal yet. They will whimper at night when they need to go out, but don't make them wait too long because they just can't! They trained themselves to use the kitty litter box as well. So with encouragement and training they would catch on to litter training easily.
These two can entertain themselves they love toys and need things to chew, but they do prefer to be with people and other dogs. Belly rubs are one of their many favorite things. Tommy and Tucker will melt your heart and make you smile every chance they get! Life to them is just plain GOOD! Because of their fragile size, we require children in the household to be aged 10 and up. They eat 3-4 times a day so need someone who is home during the day.
Please fill out an application if you are interested in meeting him. No phone calls please.
