Dumpling, 5 years Male Australian Shepherd  Mix   Click on picture to enlarge Adopted I’m Dumpling, a 5-year-old, 53-pound Australian Shepherd mix. I was rescued from a large hoarding situation in Louisiana and was briefly adopted but need to find a new home because I'm too big for the little dogs who were already living in my adoptive household. I sometimes step on them. However, my former adopter (who calls me Merlin) says I'm otherwise the perfect dog: I’m gentle, quiet, smart, curious, and affectionate. True to my breed, I love to learn new things and will be a blast to train; I already know a number of obedience commands like sit, stay, and come. I'm also great off leash, and I'm a terrific hiking and walking partner with other dogs. I'm crate trained, housetrained, and non-destructive when left alone in the house. My foster mom says I’m an absolute delight, I love a nice long walk each morning exploring and saying hello to kids waiting at the bus stop, and I enjoy playing with neighborhood dogs both big and small.
