ADOPTED

Molly is a 2 year old female red heeler who was pulled from the kill shelter in NC and driven north by two ladies just gems for saving her and a bunch of others. She looks timid in the picture, but she's a nice tail wagging dog. She looks to be in pretty good shape, but for some reason was in a drop box in a NC shelter. She would have been gassed were it not for the two kind ladies who drove all night to get her here.

Molly is a nice CALM dog. She would be fine for a working couple as long as someone can let her out during the day. She is currently being crate trained. She looks like a boxer mix. She is very sweet.

Tina is a 4 month old Sheltie mix female who was rescued and brought to us from WV. She is the sweetest dog who just wants to sit in your lap. She was fostered with toddlers and did fine. She is a little timid at first, but quickly warms up and is just as sweet as can be. Wonderful with other dogs, she would love to have a playmate to romp with.

She is just lovely. Adopted

Sophie, 7 year old female Shih tzu / Poodle mix

Sophie came to us a a stray from an overcrowded big city shelter in NY. She is just a love. We can't imagine who could have lost a dog this sweet. We think she might have been an elderly person's dog as she is a bit pudgy, but is energetic enough to lose the weight with someone who will walk her daily. She loves to walk on the leash and is a good little walker. She is great with other dogs and would probably be fine with cats. Because she is a stray we won't place her with small kids.

Adopted

Mac, 2 year old male Basenji/terrier mix

Mac is a 2 year old male Basenji/terrier mix.  He's full grown at 18 lbs. He is playful and cute as a button. He will get snapped up quickly. He is very affectionate and winsome. You should see him run around in the back yard with the puppies. He has many qualities that dog owners are looking for.He is good in his crate, good in the house, loves people and is a willing learner.

 Adopted

Manny is a 10 week old beagle mix, male, sweet as can be, good in the crate, playful, just a nice puppy. Here he is getting a bath in the kitchen sink. He is in a foster home and doing great with the other dogs and everyone. He is a little timid at first, but quickly warms up. Many beagles are like this and he is true to the breed. Adopted

Ruby Tuesday is a six month old Red Tick hound who was literally pulled from the gas chamber. The rescuer grabbed her out of the officer's arms just as she was being taken in to be euthanized. He couldn't undersatnd why anyone would want her and so she has to pretend she was going to adopt her. This rescuer is a real hero. Ruby is SO skinny, but as sweet as pie and just waiting for the right home to fatten her up.

Ruby is wonderful with other dogs, great with kids and loves everyone. She is like a lot of hounds from the south in that she is shy at first, but not aggressive at all. She acts submissive. She is not used to a crate but seems fine in a house and seems to know to go to the bathroom outdoors. She's just a love. Those ears say it all. She is just a beauty. Adopted

Henrietta, 2 year old spaniel mix

Henrietta is a 2 year old spaniel mix female who is just lovely. She is a tiny 13 lbs. and is full grown. She must have had a home as she is comfortable jumping up on furniture and just wants to chill. Please give her a low key life without children as she's already raised several litters of pups. She needs a break. She is just as sweet as they come.

She has blue eyes, which the picture doesn't show very well. See her video above, running around with Mac. Adopted!

Heidi, twelve week old female Collie mix

Heidi is female Collie mix puppies who came to us from an overcrowded shelter this week. Her and her sister, Trudy are approximately 3 months old and both are shy in new situations, but once they become comfortable they are very affectionatePlease apply. Adopted

Homer, 1 year old male Dane mix

Homer is a young male Dane mix with a heart of gold. He loves everybody and gets along great with other dogs. He is tall and a bit goofy so will need some training. He also is good at escaping from his crate, but just wants to be with people. He is housebroken and well behaved but he is not a dog to stay home all day while people are at work as he will do anything to be with humans. Please have a large place for him to run and hopefully a fenced in yard. He would do best with teens and up as he would probably knock down a small child. He is young, probably under a year. He is like a big puppy. whoever adopts him is in for a good time as he is a laugh a minute. We believe he has some room to grow, but is small for a Dane.  Adopted

Max, 1 year old male Cocker mix

Max is a one year old neutered male Cocker mix. He is timid when he first meets people, but becomes very puppy-like and friendly pretty quickly. He would be great for someone who wants a dog to bark when people come to the door, but we insist that he be obedience trained to build his confidence. He loves to raid the toy box and bring out all the toys to play with. He loves the stuff animals and is a joyful little pup. Previous cocker experience would be super. Adopted

China, 3.5 month old Husky mix

China is a 3 month old female husky mix who came to us from a NYC shelter. She is very cute and somewhat fluffy. Her description said Akita/husky, but other than the markings she doesn't have the build or fluffy coat of that breed. Her cry is like a husky, though. She is just adorable and full of spunk and smarts. She will train well with the right owner. Please apply here.

Adopted

Rocky, 11 month old spaniel/collie mix

Rocky is a beautiful spaniel or collie mix who is extremely shy. He was brought to the shelter in KY and was so great with the other dogs that nobody noticed how timid he was was you get him alone. He is very much a puppy in his play with other dogs and would be great in a family with dogs or at least one more dog. He is very timid with people at first and will need someone with the patience to give him time to settle in and also to work on slowly socializing him.

Rocky is about 11 months old. He is still a pup and is very workable. He already has bonded with his foster mom and is totally housebroken. He is super with other dogs, but we'd love it if someone who adopted him could give him lots of one on one attention. He's very sweet. As of 8/23 he is making great progress. He comes willingly to his foster mom and lets her put a leash on him. He sleeps in the bed too. Mini movie of Rocky running and playing! It looks like Rocy's foster mom might keep him, but we will consider an exceptional home.
