 Dogs Adopted in June 2005

Tiger, 3 mons Male Yorkshire Terrier   Adopted
Tiger is a adorable purebred Yorkshire Terrier puppy, 3 months old. He was given to his former owner as a "gift" and she could not keep him because she had to work 8+ hours a day and had no time for him.

Tiger loves to play with other dogs, as does any puppy...and would love to have a playmate in his new home. We are also looking for breed experience.

Renamed Teddy K. Read his Success Story.

Boss, 1 yr old Male Shepherd  Mix     Adopted
Boss
Boss

Boss is a 1 year old shepherd mix. Boss is housetrained and knows sit and down. He will require his new family to have a fenced in yard and attend obedience classes with him. Boss is a very loving, handsome boy who would like an active family to play with and love.

Cara, 8 weeks Female Corgi / Sheltie  Mix     Adopted
Cara
Cara Cara

This adorable little puppy came to us with her littermates and her mom, who is a Pomeranian/Corgi mix,They are now nearly 8 weeks old and just as sweet as can be! We suspect they will be small to medium sized dogs because of their short legs .

Cara is adorable, and playful, tho somewhat tentative, about being picked up, her tail never stops wagging. She is a VERY VERY sweet girl! She is 98% paper trained, and a smart little girl. I'm sure she'll catch on to outside pottying fast!

Before you consider applying, PLEASE read our puppy adoption guidelines at www.saveadog.org and you can also read about our adoption process on our website as well. Puppies are alot of work, but worth every minute if you have the time and devotion it takes. We require mandatory obediece training with our puppy adopters.

Tootsie, 2 yrs old Female Pointer  Mix     Adopted
Tootsie
Tootsie Tootsie

Tootsie is a medium sized (45 pounds) dog around two years old. She appears to be a mix between a pointer/setter and perhaps a border collie. Her fur is medium length and VERY soft. Tootsie is completely housetrained and behaves extremely well in a crate as well. She is friendly with most other dogs and has shown no interest in chasing cats - she basically ignores them. She is great on a leash when you walk her, but she is still playful with other dogs and occasionally "mouthy" when she wants to play with you. Because she sometimes gets excited and runs around we recommend a family with older children since she could inadventently knock small children down. She is spayed and has had all her shots; she's just looking for a family to call her own!

Shaggy, 5-7 yrs Female Bearded Collie  Mix     Adopted
Shaggy
Shaggy

Shaggy was brought to the pound when her owners moved away and abandoned her. She is approx. 5-7 yrs. old and spayed. She's friendly and runs around the foster home's back yard trying to get the other foster dogs to chase her but they don't know what to make of this big ball of fluff. She is very housetrained and used to living in a house.

Simba, 8 mons Male Golden Retriever    Adopted
Simba
Simba

Simba is an 8 month old purebred AKC Golden Retriever male who was relinquished by his owner who developed allergies to him. He is an energetic dog and loves to chase balls and toys. He has some puppy mouthy behaviors, so small children would not be a good idea, but he would be an awesome addition to a family with teens or middle schoolers. He is house trained, up to date on vaccines and already neutered. He loves people and wants to be with his family, not sitting home waiting all day for you to come home. If you have a flexible schedule and the serious commitment we're looking for in terms of a retriever owner, please, please apply. He will not let you down, so please don't let him down as he needs a pal or two to spend time with him. He had some obedience training, but he could use a second round of obedience to build in the duration he needs for sits and downs.

Spirit, 8 Weeks Male Corgie / Sheltie  Mix     Adopted

Honey, 3 yrs old Female Pomeranian / Corgi  Mix     Adopted
Honey
Honey Honey

Honey is a 3 year old, lovely pomeranian/corgi mix who came in with her 4 puppies from a shelter. She was very motherly and protective of her puppies and did a great job rearing them. She will be spayed when she can (in a few weeks) and then be ready to go to her forever home, where she can be loved and doted on for the rest of her life!

Honey is VERY VERY sweet, tho somewhat shy and will need a little time to feel fully comfortable in her new surroundings and with new people. She should go to a relatively quiet home , she is startled by loud noises. We dont know much of her background, but it's apparent she's somewhat afraid/untrusting of people in general, may have been hit/abused, but she has earned the right to be spoiled and be "someone's baby" and leave the past behind her.

She warms up to people and is just as sweet as you can imagine. She loves to be with you, nearby on the floor or couch.....She is house trained but doesn't seem to have any experiece walking on a leash. For this reason, a fenced in yard/area would be a plus if not a necessity. She will make someone a wonderful companion!
