Weekend of March 4th Rescue Mission
|
This weekend we visited a shelter in a city that has been inundated with dogs,
puppies, cats, and kittens. We brought back seven puppies and one mother cat
with four-day-old kittens. Here are some pictures of the dogs getting their
baths upon arrival. A big thanks goes to Best Friends of Sudbury for letting us
use their grooming room.

Dave Bernier of Save A Dog giving Anasthasia a bath.
First, we do the ears.
|
|
 |
Then we start hosing down the dog. |
|
 |
Then, we add the soap. Hey, watch the eyes! |
|
 |
Anasthasia's bath is done and she's ready to get out of there!
Isn't she cute! She seems to be some sort of terrier mix. A lovely little female who deserves to
be spoiled and pampered.

This is Faith, a Shepherd Lab pup. She has the serious face
of a Shepherd, but the beautiful soft yellow-colored coat of a Lab. You can't tell
from this picture, as she looks like a drowned rat, as they say, just fresh from her bath.

 |
Raven, a sweet male Lab pup, gets his bath.
He didn't seem to mind his bath, but he's a Lab, so there's no surprises there.
He's going to make someone a great dog!

Did I mention we got a mother cat and tiny kittens?
And no, she didn't get a bath. She needed to get out of the shelter into a nice home
with a real bed. Who could say 'no' to a sweet kitty like this? Not Jayne, our
board member, who took one look at her and gave her the thumbs up. She has
the most beautiful buff coloring and we think she's a young cat too. She'll be
available once the kittens are weaned.
