Kala, 3.5 months Female Retriever  Mix Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Update: We've already received more than enough applications for Kala. Please consider one of her siblings and come to our Meet and Greet to see that the other puppies are just as deserving of a home. This is Kala. She is the only girl in this litter (boys are Khaki, Kevin, and Kahlen). She super sweet natured and cute as can be. To get the picture, foster provider tried to get her to play with toys and all she was interested in was the leash and sitting in the foster mom's lap! They were turned in by someone who was giving puppies away by the side of the road in TN and a rescue worker took them in so that they wouldn't have to spend life on a chain. They are all coming up to Mass from TN on the 16th of July and will be in quarantine until the 18th and after their vet visit we will show them at our meet and greet which will be at Especially For Pets in Sudbury, 7/19/08 from 1-3 PM. No phone calls, please, as we do not have the resources to return calls and we need to focus our energies placing the adult dogs. Benji, 3 month Male Feist/terrier  Mix Click on picture to enlarge Adopted This is one of 4 pups found on the rural roadside in TN - (Lizza, Benji, Rambler and Bernie). They are around 3 mo old. They are adorable, healthy, friendly and very active. They are small, so will be small to medium when grown. Most of the pups seem to be mixed with feist or boston terrier, but Benji is the fuzziest so maybe some wire haired, we're not sure. They will arrive in mid-July and be available after their vet visits. Please do not call, but fill out an application and we will review it when the pups arrive. We will show them at Especially For Pets in Sudbury on July 19th from 1-3.

Chloe, 10 months Female Sheltie mix   Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Chloe is a 10 month old female Sheltie mix who was scheduled to be put to sleep at a shelter in TN, but she was pulled in the nick of time. Chloe is sweet, friendly, tiny and gets along well with all dogs. The TN foster mom really liked her and she is very winsome. We need adopters willing to adopt and not drag out the adoption. She will arrive on the 28th and be ready to go the first of July. She is not here yet, but we are already accepting applications.

Cora, 2 years Female Shepherd/Lab/Beagle  Mix Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Cora is a sweet aprox. 2 year old lab/shepard mix who was just skin and bones when she first arrived. She was literally pulled out from under an abandoned bldg. along with her litter of 3-4 wk old pups. All the puppies have found their forever homes, and now it's mama's turn. Cora is calm, quiet, loves to sit outside in the yard! The video is of her when she was excited and in "play mode", she loves to roll. She was a good mom to her pups and was great with the TN foster dogs. Although she was good with all dogs in Tennessee she seems to prefer laid back older dogs and doesn't really like dogs jumping all over her. She is so sweet, she just needs someone to dote on her. Cora has lived with cats and seems to be fine, she may chase sometimes but usually will sit right next to them calmly. Though shy at first, Cora is a gentle, laid back dog, and very sweet. We're hoping for a fenced in yard in a quiet neighborhood without city noises as she came from a rural environment.

Jalyn, 1 year or so Female Flat-coat retriever  Mix Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Jalyn is a flat coated ret. mix - 1 yr old - (spayed late June) good dog, friendly, playful and pretty. She's really sweet, loves attention, has lots of energy, plays with other dogs and would probably be great with another dog as she just will play and play. She's just discovering squeakies and bully sticks, which she loves. She'll need a home who will meet her energy needs as she will flourish if allowed to play and is not the type of dog to sit in a crate all day. Come meet her on Saturday at our Meet and Greet at Especially for Pets in Sudbury from 1-3 PM.

Saffron, 3.5 months Male Shepherd/husky  Mix   Click on picture to enlarge Adopted This is one of a litter of puppies whose mom is Saffire (picture show separately). Smokey, Sugar, Spice, Saffron, and Shadow. These pups and their mom were owner surrendered after Sapphire showed up at their house and had the pups. Some of the pups were poisoned by a neighbor so the caretakers contacted a local rescue woman to take them. The pups are cute, friendly, playful and sweet natured. They played all day with two younger children aged 5 and 6 and were great with them, even barking if the boys went near the road. Smart pups. Saffron is a very sweet pup who is both outgoing and gentle.

Scamp, 5 months Male Yellow Labrador Retriever  Mix Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Scamp is a young neutered male Yellow Lab mix puppy who is sweet and playful. He is arriving in mid-July and will be available to meet at our "meet and greet" on July 19th from 1-3 PM at Especially For Pets in Sudbury. Scamp weighs about 40 lbs already and is a very laid back puppy who loves everybody and will do anything for a belly rub. He's so affectionate, but isn't pushy. He loves the pool and loves toys. He's just a love bug. He has personality PLUS.

Scooby, 2 years old Male Yellow Labrador Retriever  Mix Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Scooby is a young adult male yellow lab who was being mistreated and neglected by his Tennessee owner. He was tied to a tree and had no dog house. He is not at all aggressive with dogs or people...... just a little afraid. At first he would not eat out of a bowl, but would eat if hand fed! He was being fed table scraps and knew nothing about dog food. Now that he's been in foster care, he's been terrific. He loves the water and loves to play with other dogs. He's great on leash and is discovering toys.

He is a very regal pup, has a good sense of who he is. He likes to sit cross-pawed in the back yard surveying his territory. He leads the other pups around the yard and runs them in circles playing chase. He's otherwise a mellow pup. He's going to be a big dog.

Weston, 1 - 2 years old Male Golden Retriever Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Weston is a male Golden Retriever and weighs around 60-65#, is 1-2 yrs old and a really nice dog. He was neutered on June 16th. He is very friendly with people or other dogs. He is fine in the car, used to being inside and if walked regularly, has no accidents. He is super friendly....got in the car as soon as the animal rescue worker stopped and opened the door! He was found running down a 4 lane highway so the rescue worker stopped, opened her door, and he jumped right in. He was loaded with ticks so had been living outside or running for awhile. He likes being inside where it's cool and loves loves attention. He has an occasional limp from an old injury. The vet doesn't think it's anything to be concerned over, but his adopters might want to check it out. It doesn't slow him down. He will jump up on you for attention, but can be taught not to do that. Because of the jumping, we suggest no children under ten as he could probably knock a small child down. He will be arriving from TN in mid-July and after a brief quarrantine will be available for adoption. No phone calls please as many of our volunteers are on vacation and those of us who are not need to work on getting the dogs already with us placed. Thanks for your consideration. Smokey, 5 Months Female Shepherd/husky  Mix   Click on picture to enlarge Adopted Smokey is the shy girl of the litter. She is also the smallest pup, but now weighs around 22 lbs. Her mom is Saffire (picture show separately). Smokey, Sugar, Spice, Saffron, and Shadow. These pups and their mom were owner surrendered after Sapphire showed up at their house and had the pups. They played all day with two younger children aged 5 and 6 and were great with them, even barking if the boys went near the road. Smart pups. Smokey is the smallest of the litter and she has the most beautiful green eyes. Smokey would love another young dog to play with but it is not a necessity. She will blossom in the right environment.
