Shirley,
I meant to send this photo in October in honor of the one year anniversary
of us adopting Kira (Truffles). Now I guess we'll call it a Christmas
card picture! She had a wonderful summer in Maine at our house -- loved
being by the water, although she hasn't decided if she really likes
swimming or not. Some days she spent a lot of time in the water, other
days she would rather lose her toy than go in the water -- who knows?
She got lots of running time in the hundreds of acres of woods nearby
each day when we went for walks/runs with her each day up there. And
she's keeping me in shape since we've been back because she so looks
forward to her 2-4 mile walk that we manage to take almost every day
even as it gets colder.
Kira has been a great dog -- very trainable and well-behaved. She
adapts to everything we do with her easily -- travel, visiting our parents.
She even loves to visit the vet! She's very smart with lots of personality
-- she makes us laugh all the time. My husband, who had been the holdout
for many years, cannot imagine our family without her. She loves playing
outside with the boys. And the snow -- she could hardly contain herself
last week when we opened the door and there was snow! It's hard to
believe she came from Georgia and not Alaska because she is a real
snow dog -- nothing makes her happier. A real sweetheart.
Have a great holiday season!
