Dear Shirley and everyone at Save A Dog:
Its been 6 months since we adopted Georgie and its hard to imagine our lives without him!
He has brought so much love, joy and smiles to us. He is such a good dog: he hardly ever barks,
he has no problem staying in his crate when we are at work, he doesn't get into things he shouldn't...
I could go on and on. He has gained some weight and has become absolutely the most handsome dog we've
ever seen. He is quite famous in our neighborhood, everyone stops us to tell us how handsome he is!
Georgie is so amazingly friendly (sometimes TOO friendly-he loves to jump up and lick anyone he sees!)
to people and other dogs. He's a little bit stubborn in the training department, but the K-9 cop who
has been our trainer thinks he is very trainable and assured us if we ever needed to give him up
he would find a job for him! (We will never give him up, though!) Georgie loves to go down slides
and jump up on benches, etc. (there may be some agility training in our future!) and he absolutely
LOVES the snow! He jumps up on and bounds through snow banks, not caring if he is sinking in. He
jumps around and frolics in it as it is falling from the sky! But the cutest thing Georgie does
is think that he is a lap dog. He actually sits in our laps, and he weighs 65 pounds now! But we
don't care. He is so affectionate and sweet, its worth it. We can't even hug each other without
him getting in on the action! We are so grateful that you took a chance on him. It brings tears
to our eyes to think what could have happened to him had he stayed in the shelter in West Virginia.
Its unbelievabale how loyal he was to us in such a short time. The excitement he displays when we
come home at the end of the day is priceless. Fortunately he has been pretty healthy, just one bout
of roundworm and one bout of kennel cough, but medications took care of both fairly quickly.
One of Gerogie's other endearing qualities is his howl! He hardly ever barks, but when he is
excited (usually about going outside) he lets out a deep wolf-like howl. It never ceases to be cute!
Again, thanks for all you do and thank you so much for getting us Georgie, he has made our
lives so much happier, fuller and richer. (And he's pretty happy with us, too! Our trainer
says that rescue dogs know that they've been rescued and don't take their new lives for granted!)
