Hi Shirley,
Wanted to give you an update on Gabriel, aka "Lucky Joe". We are so happy we decided to take
a chance on this beautiful dog. He truly is our "Angel Gabriel". He is up to 43 pounds now
and we have cut him back to two meals a day. You wouldn't recognize him! Our vet said this
is a good weight for him and doesn't want him to gain much more. No longer does his bones
protude, they're covered by nice healthy fat! HIs coat is so thick and luxurious and you
wouldn't believe how strong he is. His so beautiful people think he must be a girl! We
get comments on him all the time.
His disposition is so mellow (until he spots another dog or cat, then he barks his head off),
he's just a joy. He graduated this week from obedience class and we plan on taking him
to some "romps" to get him more socialized with other dogs. He knows his commands very well
but we need to work with him on walking on a leash and barking at other dogs.
He comes to work with me a couple times a week and just loves everybody and everybody loves
him. This summer he will go on his first vacation to Kennebunkport.
I tell everybody about Save A Dog. I don't think I would ever look elsewhere for another dog.
I check your website frequently just to see the dogs you have and when they get adopted. Take
care and continued success. I will keep you updated on Gabe's progress
