Hi Laurie,
Hope all is going well with you and your foster dogs. I just wanted to send you an update on Boss:
Boss has been just wonderful. It has been about 4 1/2 months since we adopted him (October, 2005) and he has become a huge part of our family. He is one of the most loving, fun and smart dogs we have ever known, it still baffles us that he had been given up twice before we adopted him. He is very good with people (including kids) and other dogs. Everyone is just so surprised when they meet him because he is so accepting of others and good natured. They keep telling us how lucky we are to have found such a nice dog.
He continues to be very energetic, but we just keep him exercised with walks and ball time- which he just LOVES. He still loves his car rides too and it is sometimes difficult to get out of the house without him. He would sleep in the car if we let him. Actually, that reminds me of a funny story- I went out shopping one morning and Dewey was home doing a brake job on my car. When I came back home, I walked by Dewey working on my car (which was jacked up in the air) and went into the house to get my usually greeting from Boss. He did not come. So I popped back out into the garage to ask Dewey where Boss was when something caught my eye. Boss was happily sitting in the back seat of my car watching Dewey while he worked. He was supervising the job- what a great Boss!
We have successfully completed 2 obedience classes: Basic and Recall. He did well with both and enjoys going to school. We are planning on enrolling him into agility classes this April. He had a taste of it during the Basic class and he did well.
Thank you very much for giving us the opportunity to adopt such a terrific dog. He has made our family circle complete.
Good luck to all future dog adoptions. I hope they go as well as ours did.
Well time to go now- we just wanted to let you know how well things are going. Please post this information on the website for SaveaDog.
Take care.
Kim and Dewey
