Polo, 4 yrs old Male Bichon Frise  Adopted Polo is a sweet 4 year old neutered male Bichon who is losing his home because of divorce. We cannot take phone calls on him as we are busy trying to place other pets as well. Read his Success Story

Apollo, 12 wks Male Shepherd / Lab  Mix     Adopted Apollo is an adorable 12 wk old Shepherd mix puppy. He is the runt of a litter of shepherd/lab mix pups and is less labby looking than his sibs. He is very tiny, only weighing 14 lbs. at this time so he will be a small to medium-sized dog. He is adorable and playful and very affectionate and sweet. Crate trained and is starting on clicker training. If you have room in your heart for this little guy, he'll make a wonderful companion!

Butter, 1 year old Male Yellow Lab  Mix     Adopted Butter is a one year old male Yellow Lab mix who will be available after 2/28/06. He will be neutered prior to going home. He was abandoned by his owner at the dog sitter's along with Nala.

Connie, 1 yr old Female Shepherd  Mix     Adopted Connie arrived at the shelter as a stray. She is a nice girl and seems to get along with other dogs. She is about 1 year old and weighs about 60 pounds. She walks well on a leash.

Gracie, 8 wks Female Dalmatian    Adopted Gracie has a heart condition that we are currently monitoring. Gracie is an eight week old Dalmation pup who was relinquished by a backyard breeder. She appears to be perfectly crate trained and is the most darling puppy you will ever meet.

Justice, 3 years old Male Labrador Retriever    Adopted Justice is a three year old neutered male Lab who was relinquished by his family due to severe allergies of the children. He is a really nice dog, but also very large so would do best in a fenced in yard. He is used to having someone around so probably would do best in a stay at home environment. He is quiet, doesn't bark in his crate either, loves to play, but also likes to sit by your side. He would make a wonderful companion for anyone and he's past the chewie, adolescent stage but still young enough to have everything a dog adopter would want.

Sally, 9 mons Female Rottie / Shepherd  Mix     Adopted Sally is a very sweet girl, about 9 months old and is very loving. She gets along with other dogs. She is a big girl but just gorgeous and with a wonderful personality. If you like big dogs, she's your girl. Sally will be available for adoption after Feb 28th.

Adonis, 4 mons Male Collie  Mix     Adopted Adonis is an adorable collie mix puppy. He came into the shelter with his mother, who is about 25 lbs. We believe he is a Collie mix who will grow to be about 40 lbs. He is about 4 months old now (as of 2/24). He is a super cute puppy who is soft and fuzzy. He has a sable type of coat. He is a social puppy who enjoys attention. He likes being around people and was happy being held. He is playful and full of puppy bounce. Adonis will be a fun and loving friend who will bring joy to each day. Will be available after 3/21.

Tasha, 8 mons Female Shiba Inu / Sheltie  Mix     Adopted Tasha is an adorable puppy who is close to 8 mos. old and weighs about 25 pounds -- we don't think she'll get much bigger. She has a BEAUTIFUL soft coat. She is learning to walk well on a lead and is good with kids and other dogs. She is just a delight. This is not a dog to sit in a crate all day as she just wants to play, play, play!

Tonya, 5 mons Female Lab / Whippet  Mix     Adopted Tonya is a 30lb. light and lively ball of fire!! Almost 6 months old,she is active outside, running and chasing leaves in the wind and sticks on the ground. She plays with all her many squeaky toys at the house, going from one to another, throwing them up, running back and forth, shaking them etc--she is such a puppy! She crates well, again surrounded by toys--she is the most self amused dog you will ever know. She is a great companion for other dogs, all people, has a good appetite, almost completely house trained ( an accident or two until you know her habits), is very Velcro, comes when called, and loves to snuggle, sits for treats, needs lots of exercise to blow off her puppy steam. She is still a tad mouthy when excited but does not destroy furniture etc--as long as her toys are around, she will not be a menace to any household. Understands NO! and is a quick study--needs some leash training but is a smart, sweet brown-eyed beauty you will adore. By the evening she is ready to fall asleep with you anywhere, and she easily sleeps through the night. She loves to play and wrestle with other dogs. But she may chase a cat, although she won’t hurt it. She is spayed and up to date on all her shots. She will be available at our Meet and Greet at Especially for Pets in Wayland on 2/26/06 from 2-4PM.

Archie, 10 weeks old Male Shepherd / Lab  Mix     Adopted Archie is a 10 week old Shepherd mix puppy who was relinquished along with his littermates and fostered for two weeks prior to being brought to Save A Dog.

Betty, 10 weeks Female Shepherd / Lab  Mix     Adopted Betty is a 10 week old Shepherd mix puppy who was relinquished along with herlittermates and fostered for two weeks prior to being brought to Save A Dog. She is healthy and playful and ready for a permanent home.

Brad, 1 yr old Male Aussie / Border Collie  Mix     Adopted We rescued Brad when he was sent to a shelter to be put down. It is inconceivable to us that anyone would dispose of such a beautiful dog. He is submissive to people and dogs. He plays nicely with all dogs. He has the beautiful look of a border collie with the hind end of an Australian Shepherd, including the nothingness of a tail. He is about 1 year old and we would love to see him go to someone who will work with him on agility or frisbee training. He can already jump straight up in the air off all fours, but he is not a hyper dog by any means.

Buddy, 7.5 months Male Black Lab  Mix     Adopted Buddy is a Black Labrador Retriever mix who is about 7-1/2 months old. He was brought to us by his person who was moving to a place that doesn't accept pets. A sad situation that happens too often. Buddy just doesn't know how his person who he loved could leave him behind. However, he is more than willing to open his heart again. Buddy is mostly black with some white on his chest. He weighs about 30 lbs and will grow to be between 50 and 60 lbs. He is just wonderful and has the best personality. He is one happy dog who rarely stops wagging his tail. He enjoys every moment of the day and immediately makes you an instant friend. He is well mannered and quite calm for his age. He is an affectionate dog who gives doggie kisses. He is also good with other dogs. Buddy is good with food and nicely takes treats. He likes going for walks and does well on the leash. AND He's house trained. Plain and simple - he is one great dog! Whoever adopts Buddy will surely have a friend for live who will provide so much love and joy. Come meet this guy. He will immediately charm and impress you! Will be available after 3/21.

Calvin, 10 weeks Male Shepard / Lab Retriever  Mix     Adopted Calvin, a 10 week old Shepard/Lab mix, came to us with his five littermates after being brought to a shelter. He is playful and adorable and looking for a permanent home.

Cocoa, 7 years old Female Chocolate Lab    Adopted Cocoa is a 6 year old spayed female Chocolate Lab whose owner could no longer care for her. She came from a household with lots of cats, so she is very gentle with them. She is good with kids and dogs as well and is just a sweetheart of a dog, extremely gentle and loving. She needs to lose a few pounds, but with regular exercise that should be no problem. She is scheduled for surgery on 1/23 to remove a large bladder stone and should be available after she recovers.

Dancer, 4 years old Female Bloodhound  Mix     Adopted Dancer is a very sweet dog who looks like a petite Blood hound. That's because she has some Plott hound in her. She is about 4 years old and was a stray dog wandering around in the cold until someone took her in. She is excellent with children, very gentle and house-trained too. She is a beauty and she loves the puppies we have. She follows them around making sure nobody gets hurt and she lets the puppies jump all over her without batting an eye. She weighs 56 pounds. Dancer had eye surgery to correct a condition called entropia in both her eyes. This does not affect her sight, but it keeps her eyes from gettin irritated by the lashes growing the wrong way.

Hobbes, 10 weeks Male Shepherd / Lab  Mix     Adopted Hobbe is a 10 week old Shepherd mix puppy who was relinquished along with his littermates and fostered for two weeks prior to being brought to Save A Dog. He is healthy and playful and ready for a permanent home.

Holly, 7 mons Female Rottie / Spaniel  Mix     Adopted This sweetie is Holly. She is about 7 months old (as of 2/20) and came to the shelter as a stray. We believe she is a Rottweiler/Spaniel mix. She has markings of a rottie, but in a pint-sized package. She is super cute and is tri-colored. She should be around 45 lbs when fully grown. She is very good with the other dogs and enjoys playing with them. She passed the temperament test with flying colors. She is calm in thehouse, doesn't jump on furniture; polite and well-behaved - doesn't jump on people; loves attention, asks to be patted; obedient - comes and sits automatically when called, responds well to mild "No"; good on leash; afraid of loud or sudden noises; crates well and is quiet as a mouse, asks to go out; LOVES to walk in the woods or on the road, would be a great companion for someone who walks a lot Holly loves her little rope toy and she enjoys playing keep away with the other dogs. She's very submissive.

Max, 9 mons Male Foxhound    Adopted Max is a beautifully young (9 months) male Foxhound who is sweet and pretty quiet for a hound. He was given up by his owner who lived in an apartment and felt that apt life was no life for a hound, plus we think he grew too big for the weight limit. He is very thin, possibly because the owner was trying to keep him at the weight requirement, but we are trying to fatten him up. He is extremely affectionate and thinks he's a lap dog. He's good with cats, kids, and dogs. And he's fully housebroken. He's learning to sit too

Nala, 1-2 years old Female Yellow Lab  Mix     Adopted Nana is a two year old female lab who came to us after being abandoned at the dog sitter's. She was just spayed (for the second time) as the vet couldn't find a spay scar, so she is recovering from her surgery. She is an affectionate dog who prefers people over other dogs, although she will play with them and was raised with another male lab. She comes when called and prefers nothing better than to be at your side.

Pepsi, 5 mons Female Pointer / Shih Tzu  Mix     Adopted Pepsi is about 5 months old (as of 2/27). She was brought to a shelter, in an unwanted litter, with her brother, Soda Pop -- also available for adoption. Those things will happen when you do not spay/neuter your dogs. The person who brought them in to the shelter said they were Pointer/Shih Tzu mixes, but we think they may also have some Border Collie. We are guessing they will probably grow to 35 - 45 lbs. They are both super cute and cuddly. They are outgoing puppies who are very social. They love hanging around people and are ready to meet any one who approaches them. They are active and playful, and will bring you lots of fun and love.

Shasta, 7 mons Female Shepherd / Border Collie  Mix     Adopted Shasta is only 7 months old and came to the shelter with her sister Shelby and brother Sonny. Mom was a pure bred German Shepherd and dad a Border Collie so she looks a little like both. She weighs approx. 45 pounds and is learning to wear a collar and walk on lead for the first time. Shasta is the shyest of the group. Isn't she gorgeous!

Shelby, 7 mons Female Shepherd / Border Collie  Mix     Adopted This pretty girl came to the shelter with her sister Shasta and her brother Sonny. She is 7 months old and 1/2 German Shepherd, 1/2 Border Collie. She only weighs about 40 pounds and is very sweet and quiet. She loves to roll over and have her belly rubbed. She is just now learning to wear a collar and walk on lead. Shelby is the most outgoing of the 3 siblings and has learned quickly how to walk on a lead. She has golden highlights thru her black coat. Will be available after 3/21.

Soda Pop, 5 mons Male Pointer / Shih Tzu  Mix     Adopted This cutie is Soda Pop. He is about 5 months old (as of 2/27). He was brought to a shelter, an unwanted litter.. Those things will happen when you do not spay/neuter your dogs. The person who brought them in said they were Pointer/Shih Tzu mixes, but we think they may also have some Border Collie. Sonny, 7 mons Male Shepherd / Border Collie  Mix     Adopted Sonny is one of three 7 month old pups who came to us from a high kill shelter. His mother was a pure bred German Shepherd and his father was a Border Collie. He is wearing a collar and walking on a lead for the first time in his life. He is the sweetest boy and starts wagging his tail as soon as you look his direction. He has been with children and other dogs since birth. He's doing well learning to walk on a lead and is great with other dogs. Very submissive boy. Will be available after 3/21.

Tim, 10 mons Male Shepherd / Collie  Mix     Adopted Tim is a gorgeous 10 month old male Shepherd mix who is good with dogs, cats, and kids. He is leash trained and house trained and goes to the door to go out. He is also crate trained and he knows Sit. He was given up because his owner was unemployed when he adopted him, then got a job which took him away for long hours. He couldn't see crating him all that time and we feel he made the right decision. So please, be someone who can spend the time. Someone with flex hours or a part time worker would be great. A stay at home or family with kids would be wonderful too. He is an awesome dog who deserves a forever home.

Tovah, 12 yrs old Female Yellow Lab    Adopted Tovah is a twelve year old yellow lab who has the activity level of a five year old lab. She loves squeaky toys and tennis balls. She is on meds for arthritis, but otherwise is a very healthy dog. She gets along with cats, dogs and kids. Because of her age, we would prefer a quiet home for her. She is used to having someone at home during the day so a stay at home would be the best environment for her.
