 Dogs Adopted in June, 2001

Daisy, 1 year old Female Powder Puff Chinese Crested    Adopted
Born last June these two Chinese Crested females came in together, but probably need to be placed separately as they need lots of individual attention. Daisy is sweet and loves her foster people, but is still shy around new people. She crates well and would be a great dog for someone who might have other small dogs or someone experienced with the breed.

Han, 7 weeks old Male beagle.     Adopted
Han is a six week old hound mix pup who is still with his mom. He will be neutered and started on puppy shots before he goes home to his forever family. Please be someone who can spend time with him and no small children under six, please. Puppies need lots of socialization at this age so he needs to be with people, especially during these crucial early months.

Mandy, 3 years old Female beagle    Adopted
Mandy is a three year old mama beagle girl who will be spayed after her pups are weaned. She is as loving and affectionate as they come. Look how she cuddles up to Linda after her long ride in the van. What is not to love?

Luna -- 1.5 year old female -  hound mix

Luna is about a 1-and-a-half-years-old and is a small hound mix. She weighs about 20 pounds and was a bit shy at first, but is warming up and is very affectionate. She can't get enough pats and seems very playful and interested in toys and balls. She is very underweight right now but should fill out in time. (Luna is recovering from kennel cough and will not be at the adoption day.) Adopted!

Bunny - 1 year old Female - Powder Puff Chinese Crested

Born last June these two Chinese Crested females came in together, but probably need to be placed separately as they are very dog-oriented and shy with people. They need gentle humans.  Someone familiar with rescued dogs or a patient person who can spend the time would be best for these beautiful dogs. Adopted!

Casper - 3 year old Male - Bichon

Casper is a three year old male Bichon who is as playful and affectionate as a puppy. He is very smart as he knows the names of many of his toys and understands commands. He is blind in one eye and has a juvenile cataract in the other, which may require surgery in the future. The eye problem does not seem to affect him at all other than he needs daily eye drops and will need vet visits every three months to monitor his cataract. Save A Dog is willing to subsidize Casper's eye care. If you would like to help, please make donations to Save A Dog and note 'Casper Fund' on the check.  Adopted

Luke - Male beagle. Seven weeks old

Luke is a six week old hound mix pup who is still with his mom. He will be neutered and started on puppy shots before he goes home to his forever family. Please be someone who can spend time with him and no small children under six, please. Puppies need lots of socialization at this age so he needs to be with people, especially during these crucial early months. Adopted!

Cali - Female beagle. Fifteen month old

Cali is a one and a half year old purebred beagle who was adopted at ten months and recently returned for housebreaking issues. Our foster provider found that there was not so much a house training problem but that she will bark if crated. She is doing well with eliminating outside, but if you crate her while you are in her sight she will bark. She has been quiet in her crate when people are not home so should be fine for working people who can come home at lunch. She's a gorgeous dog and very lovable.

Adopted!

Shadow -- Lab mix, neutered male,  four years old

Shadow is a four year old neutered male Lab mix whose family no longer had time for him. He knows sit, down, heel, stay and is a gentle giant weighing in at 95 lbs. Really nice dog who deserves a large back yard to play in. Owner thought he was mixed with Newfie as he's very large. Because of his size we won't place him with small children, but he is not aggressive at all, just big. Adopted!

Rocky -- 6 mo. old male - Lab mix

Rocky is a neutered male, young yellow labby-type dog. He's very young and weighs about 15  to 20 lbs.  Adopted

Jake -- 1 year old male -  Lab

Jake is the most awesome, sweet black neutered male lab you'd ever want to meet. He was great in the car, very sweet and submissive. He's new to the program so his personality should start to come out in the next few days. What a nice, nice dog, though, with gorgeous brown eyes. He seems to be about a year old. Adopted

Buddy - 1 year old male - Pom

Buddy is a one year old male pom. He loves to be a lap dog. Crate trained and very affectionate. Adopted.

Honey Dew -- 6 mon. old -  Lab mix

Honey Dew is a female tan, spayed female lab/shep mix. She's very tiny for a lab so could be some other small tan-type dog. She's young and very, very sweet

Adopted!

Pierre -- 1 year old male -  PBGV/Lhasa Mix

Pierre is a male Shaggy dog, who is still intact, but who will be neutered and soon available. He has the long nose of a PBGV, the french hound, but has shaggy fur like a terrier. He was quiet in the car. Adopted.

Bebe -- Female Jack Russell Terrier -- five years young

Bebe is a five year old purebred female Jack Russell Terrier whose owner moved to an apartment who would not take dogs. She was raised with kids, but was an only dog. She seems to do fine with larger dogs or dogs bigger than her. She's aggressive with kittens, but is okay with dog-savvy cats. Bebe, like many terriers, has a high prey drive, which means she tends to obsess over chasing small furry creatures. We feel she would do best in an urban location where the only challenge might be an occasional squirrel. She's a lovable dog and deserves a good home. Adopted
