 Dogs Adopted in December, 2001

Sophie, 1 year old female Bernese Mt. Dog mix)    Adopted
Sophie is a beautiful Bernie cross about 1-2 yrs. old, approx. 40 lbs and fully grown. She was hit by a car and suffered a broken leg that has healed nicely under the care of a Boston shelter. She has a very sweet and lively disposition, and will need regular exercising along with basic obedience. Sophie loves the companionship of humans and dogs, is beautifully crate trained and in the process of being house trained. She is submissive with other dogs.

Renamed Tika. Read her Success Story

Lab mix puppies -- 8 weeks  old - all males

These lab mix puppies are about twelve weeks old now and are very, very nice puppies. The are growing fast so we are going to begin taking applications and showing them Thanksgiving weekend. They are all boys and all very well behaved. They will make nice dogs for someone who has the time to socialize them as puppies need lots of human contact.

Sasha -- 1 year  old - Shepherd mix (female)

Sasha a very petite  35 lb. shepherd mix  female, who is about a year old.She recently had puppies but is now spayed. She is shy at first, but once she gets to know you she is affectionate and playful.  She would be a great companion for another young dog as she loves to play and constantly tries to get the other dog in her foster home to interact with her.  She's a very spunky girl with lots of curiosity and playfulness. We have to place her in an adult home as she was not raised with children. She is crate trained, and housebroken. A very sweet dog who will be very devoted to her person. Adopted by a family with a dog already so she has someone to play with all day long!

Tara -- 1 year  old - Shepherd/husky (female)

Tara is a one year old husky/shepherd mix who is very sweet and in need of a permanent home. She is absolutely the most lovable, happy dog you'll ever meet. She's also much cuter than her picture and she's medium-sized too. She's every bit a puppy and totally enthralled with the world around her. She loves attention and pats. She has started on obedience training and is very responsive. The staff at the kennel where we're boarding her absolutely loves her. She would be great for a young couple or single who wants an athletic dog for hikes or agility work. She's such a willing learner. A fenced in yard would be ideal. Adopted!

Montana -- Chocolate Lab, male, 2 years old

Montana is a two year old neutered male Chocolate Lab who was raised with kids but has been kenneled for a few months due to a family crisis. He was sadly given up by his owner. Montana is a great dog, just a little kennel crazy after months of being cooped up. He's in a foster home now and we expect him to blossom as he gets lots of exercise in a fenced in yard. Please be someone who can give him the attention and exercise that any young lab needs. He so deserves it. Adopted!

Ebony -- 4 months  old - Retriever mix (female)

Ebony is a four month old female Retriever mix puppy who is sweet and quiet, shy at first but incredibly affectionate. She will probably be a medium-sized dog. Adopted

Micky and Minnie are two twelve week old dachshund mix puppies who are full of fun and mischief. Mickey is very terrier-like in his antics and would do well in a home with other dogs who can be gentle, but firm with him. He is so full of it. Little Minnie is delicate and loves to be held. Both are too small to go to homes with children as they are easy to step on. Both have great personalities and will thrive in an environment where they get lots of attention. Minnie is four lbs. and Mickey is six lbs.

Both got Adopted!

Mickey is as smart as a whip and has learned to sit for a treat from watching the other dogs. Minnie is catching on too!

Raven -- 11 months old male Laborador Retriever ADOPTED

Raven is a  black lab whose owner felt the city was no place for an active dog. Ryan would like a nice big backyard to run in. He has been obedience trained (3 sets of classes), but is still puppy enough to forget his training and do some leash pulling. He is a strong dog who would do best with a strong owner and/or other dogs to wear him out.

He is your typical tail-wagging, happy, labby boy. He will make an awesome dog for the right person. He was not raised with kids, so no children, please, especially since he could bowl over a small child. He also gets along great with other dogs. Owner said he ignores cats. He LOVES water and will tip over his water bowl just to try to swim in the puddle. Adopted!

Trudy -- 4 months  old - Shepherd mix (female)

Trudy is an exceptionally sweet puppy who was born in a shelter in North Carolina and babied by all the volunteers. She is as sweet as can be and deserves a wonderful home. She's pictured here with her foster mom who drove her all the way up to MA and tearfully handed her over in hopes of giving her a better life. Let's not let her down! Trudy loves everybody. She's friendly and as loving as they come. She will be a medium-sized dog. Adopted

Baby -- 1 year  old - male Chihuahua

BABY-just arrived!  Baby is a 1 year-old Chihuahua who is very sweet and
housebroken as far as we can tell.  He is no threat to cats, but likes to
bark at them out of curiousity.  Baby and Ivory were abandoned and came in
together, but do not need to be placed together. Baby is small, but this picture is big.
Adopted!

Ivory -- 5 year  old - female Chihuahua

IVORY-They don't make them any sweeter than this!  Ivory is the dog for the
person who wants to be adored!  As far as we can tell, she is great with
people, dogs and cats.  She seems fine with children, but was not raised
with them.  She also seems to be housebroken.  We are not sure how old she is, but seems to be about 5, possibly a little older.
Adopted

Poppy is a one to two year old female Chihuahua who will be spayed and ready to go the first of January. She's very sweet. No kids, as she was not raised with them. Adopted

Cricket, a five year old neutered male Chihuahua. Cute and spunky. He will need some dental work prior to adoption. He is a great apt. sized dog as he is tiny and quiet for a small dog. Adopted!
