Bongo, 2 yr old Male Mastiff / Golden  Mix
Bongo
Bongo

Bongo is a WV dog we rescued recently. HIs foster family says he's good with other dogs, good with kids, likes to go for walks and is completely house trained. He likes to chase balls. He's big, so needs a yard to run around in, preferably fenced as he won't know boundaries at this age. He knows sit, down, and come. He doesn't jump up on the counter. He likes to be with his people. We're working on keeping him off the furniture. He likes to play with other dogs. His WV mom says: "Bongo" showed up at a neighbors They tried to ignore him the first day but by the second day they had to buy dog food, in their words - pick off about a hundred ticks (it's really bad this season down here), and cleaned him up because he was filthy. Looking back I think the combination of the ticks and lack of food had zapped him of any energy. When I couldn't convince them to take him home with them (the gentleman recently finished chemotherapy), I told them I would do everything in my power to find a good home for him. Bongo is a very sweet dog. He is neither shy nor aggressive. I have introduced him into my "pack" of two males and one dominant female. The female doesn't want him around her (she thought he was great on his turf!) but there have been no problems whatsoever. I do not have cats but when I took him to be neutered on Tuesday (July 10) there were several cats there wandering around and he noticed but seeemd to be more curious than anything else. He weighed in at 62 pounds and believe he would not suffer if he was to gain a few more pounds. So he is not a small dog and the vet seemed to think Bongo was approximately 2 years of age.
