Zara, 1-2 years Female Chi-weenie

Zara is a sweet young dog who is very adaptable. She arrived at Save A Dog mid March, rescued from a hoarding
situation where she lived in close quarters with dozens of dogs. Pregnant and scared, she went straight into foster
and lived with three resident dogs. From there she blossomed, keen to learn what was expected. House training was first on the
list and she is now clean and dry overnight. During the day when not in the X-pen with her puppies, she is free in her
foster home and if she fails to let the family know that she needs out, she will aim for a strategically placed pee pad. Her favorite thing to do is to collect all the stuffed toys around the house and pile them into one big pile.
Zara loves the freedom of running around in the fully fenced in back yard. She loves to chase the birds. She loves to
sniff and explore, rolling in the grass and sunning herself on the back deck.
She has learned to walk nicely on leash. She has no problems with a harness and is very
excited to be out and about. She is cautious of cars and we're thinking she is better suited for a suburban or somewhat quiet environment. Street noises will frighten her.
Zara has bonded with her human foster mum, but also loves to spend time with both the dad and teens in the household. She likes nothing better than a warm lap to cuddle on. She is too young and energetic
to be considered a "full time" lap dog, however. She needs to play. As she was from a life of extreme neglect we would love a stay-at-home or work-from-home situation for her. She will be available the end of May. Local adopters preferred as we're working out her spay surgery.
