Nelson is an 8 yr old Yorkie mix who came to us looking for a forever home. He is very petite, weighing approximately 5 lbs. Nelson is very lovable to his people, but he needs a special small terrier-savvy home as he doesn't like strangers picking him up. Nelson walks great on a leash and loves his toys, and a real plus is that he is great with cats and is house broken. He sleeps in his crate in the foster home, but would love to sleep in the bed with his adopter. He has a lot to offer, but if he doesn't know you, then you can't just grab him or reach over his head to pet him -- remember he is only five pounds! He is currently staying with 3 other small dogs and gets along great with all of them, but if a new dog comes into the house, he has to put him through the ringer for a bit. Nelson doesn't act his age at all. He acts like a much younger dog. He is so playful and loves to carry his toys around like he has hunted them. He likes to settle down for naps on the sofa and be close to foster mom. He likes his foster Dad too. He needs a terrier savvy home without little kids. He can be a little terror sometimes but what can you do? He's a terrier! NELSON WILL NOT BE AT OUR MEET & GREETS. WE ARE HAPPY TO ARRANGE A PRIVATE APPOINTMENT.
