Mufasa is an adorable Shepherd / Lab mix who was born in November 2011. He weighs around 45 lbs., and is full grown.
Mufasa is completely housebroken, crate trained and sleeps all night quietly in his crate. He likes everyone he meets. He is happy happy happy! He loves to play with toys and toss around toys, but not really big on chasing a ball.
Right now he is in a foster home living with 3 other dogs - 2 males and 1 female. He's playful and is respectful of the Foster Mom and the other pups. He will chase cats so a ‘no cat’ home!
We prefer an experienced dog owner and who has a trainer readily available as he will test the waters the first day in his home, like jumping and mouthing you, but he NEVER does that in his foster home or at Save A Dog with all the various volunteers. He would be too much for those who are not used to a very smart and spirited dog. He was not raised with children so we prefer an adult home. If a young couple adopted him, we’re sure he’d be fine when babies come along.
Mufasa needs a confident handler and he will be the perfect angel. He GRADUATED from ‘beginner’ obedience training classes at MSPCA, and needs someone who will continue the training. He is very responsive to the ‘clicker’, and he is completely food motivated.
He will not be at the shelter during our visiting hours so please fill out the application so you can see him by private appointment. He is being seen by private appointments at his foster home as he shows much better in an environment that is familiar to him. She will be at our Petco Natick event from 12-2 PM on Sat, November 9th.
