Houston, ~ 4-6 years Male Great Pyrennes / Shepherd / Husky
Mix
|
Houston is a 4-6 year old neutered male "big white dog" (81 lbs) who was briefly adopted and turned out to be not good with cats. In every other way he is the most perfect dog, totally house trained and good in the house, not a chewer, doesn't get into your stuff. He's calm and gentle. At first we thought he was a Husky mix, but he may be getting his size from a Pyrenees parent, and with the shape of his head and the shorter coat, maybe some yellow lab? His ears are an apricot color, and you can see this coloring along his sides, too. History: He was kept chained in a shed, tangled in whatever was closest to him, and was fed when somebody thought about him. A compassionate young woman found out about him and because of her efforts to get food to him, he put on some weight before we found out about him. He arrived at Friends for Life on Sept. 9th. He was soon neutered and is now ready for adoption. As happens in many cases of abuse and/or neglect, he's still a gentle dog and we're told he loves kids, so would be fine with teens and up due to his size. We've found out that he will sit on command (esp. for FOOD) and walks well on leash. He has been fostered with senior dogs and was very calm with them. Please apply online so that we can have it ready when you come in. Visiting hours are posted on the Web site.
