Nutmeg is a sweet 45 lb petite mixed breed dog the color of Nutmeg, hence the name. She was brought into animal control along with her friend Chloe into a rural shelter in TN. She has the prettiest face and is very sweet. Because she was plain-looking and in a high volume, very rural shelter, she was there a long time -- and they were ready to euthanize her -- when Save a dog stepped up and saved her. She has been in foster care since October and is ready to find her new family. She walks on the leash and does better walking with Chloe than on her own, so another dog or some more training, would be ideal for her. She gets along great with all dogs she has been around. She was not cat tested, but is so gentle we would be surprised if she went after a cat. She had to stay outside during the day but was allowed to sleep in the house at night, so she is acclimiated to household living. She has never any accidents in the house. What a sweet dog. We estimate her to be around 4 years old, but will know more once our vet examines her. Available on 1/4/12.
