Kermit, 4 years Male Pointer/Beagle  Mix
Kermit
Kermit

UPDATE: Great news! Kermit has a home! HI I am Kermit and I am 4 years old. My first family had a baby and the baby was my world. Then they had another baby and that baby became my world. I thought it was my job to protect the baby from the toddler so I had to leave. Save A Dog is hoping I can get a home with no babies and toddlers so that I can keep my home. Also, I didn't like city life as I was never in an apartment so if I hear people walking overhead, I will bark. Anyway, listen to Save A Dog tell my story as I'm a VERY lovable dog and quiet as a mouse and very sweet. Save A Dog Notes: Kermit is a 4 year old male mixed breed "bird dog", we think. He's a nice size, 42 lbs and is well-behaved in the house. He needs exercise, so is not a "couch potato" like some dogs his age. He loves taking long walks or, even better, running off leash through the woods once you've had him for awhile. While he loves to be out running, he also does well at home while his family is off at work. He just hangs out on the couch. He's crate trained but he's not a dog to spend hours in the crate as he was used to having run of the house in his former home. He's also invisible fence trained. He's also done several training classes and knows most basic dog commands (sit, down, stay, come.) At night, he likes to relax with his family and enjoy some love and affection. Who can blame him, LOL. We are looking for a forever home for him without small children. Hopefully someone whose kids are grown or someone who does not have children, but who is athletic enough to want to take him for walks and runs on a daily basis. He also isn't cut out for city life. He's a country bumpkin. He was well-cared for in his previous home, had regular vet visits, and was kept nice and slim, so he's in great health. He is good with other dogs, went to daycare on a daily basis, but there are some males he doesn't like, so either a female canine companion or as an only dog with play dates would be the ideal situation for him. He's a great dog who deserves a forever home. Please apply and we will arrange for a private appointment for you to meet him. P.S. He will chase a cat, so no cats, please. Whoever adopts him is going to fall head over heels in love with this highly intelligent and sensitive dog. Please apply first and let us know who you are as he's in a foster home and we will need to bring him to the shelter so you can meet him.
