Murphy is a lover, all he wants is a home to call his own and a family to love him. He has been living in as an outside dog at a sanctuary in WV and is adjusting to life in a house. He is learning how to use the stairs and is becoming quite good at it. Murphy loves to be outside and is happy to get the chance to tromp around in the snow, so he would love a fenced in yard, although it's not a requirement as he's good on leash as well. When it snows he bounds around the yard like a puppy. He is very quiet and well behaved in the house, mid sized and not a barker. He has no food issues, is housebroken, and not a big furniture climber or chewer. He is excellent in the crate, but doesn't really need it as he is respectful when left alone. He is a lovely soul who adores long walks, looking out the window and cuddling up in front of the TV. He would make a great jogging partner or just a pal to hike with and then sit by the fire with you. He is an easy keeper, and bonds quickly to anyone who shows him love. As he grew up in an outside shelter in a rural part of the country, he is a little wary of loud noises at first but gets comfortable quickly. Murphy has not been raised with kids, so he is a little afraid of them and may not be the best match for very young ones, but fine with teens and even calm kids 10 and older. He is however very friendly with cats. He would do best as an only dog in the house, as he understandably had to carve out his own space in the shelter. Murphy loves to kiss and nuzzle and is overall just a wonderful dog. He will be at the meet and greets during the weekends.
