Adopted

Anna weighs 9# 10 oz. She and her sisters were rescued at a few weeks old when the mother was shot by a hunter. They had some hair loss, probably due to poor nutrition but all the fur is back . We are treating her holistically and would like an adopter to follow our protocol. She's a young pup that will need house training, proper socialization, puppy classes and lots of love. Local adopters are given preference as we will not send young puppies very far away. We prefer stay-at-home or work-from-home adopters. Please apply online at http://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp and we will be in touch about our visiting hours. No phone calls please. Adopted

Bennie is a 4 year old neutered male Papillon who is super sweet. He's not a barker at all, and is a very happy boy who does well with other dogs, and is good with older kids. He came to us when his owner passed away and the family surrendered him. He was very matted, fur was a mess so we had to groom him. His hair is short now but growing back well. Literally, the happiest boy. He is fully vetted and HW negative (neutered). Available after 7/29/19.

Adopted

My name is Cooper and I'm a total Mutt and I'm under a year. I was found a stray in rural South Carolina. I'm really not sure how I ended up lost but I guess these things happen sometimes! The nice people who found me took me to the local shelter to be scanned for a chip, I didn't have one. When the shelter explained they were really full and I would only make that worse for other dogs my foster family took me home again. Lucky for me, I never had to spend a single day at the shelter! My foster parents say I do great in the house, I use the puppy pads if I really have to and no one is around. I am good in my crate but am good outside the crate too. I love snoozing on the couch or in bed with my foster parents, I enjoy playing with toys a lot. I am a friendly puppy who loves everyone I meet, dogs and people alike. I am just an awesome little guy who deserves the best home ever. My foster family will miss me but they are super excited that I will get to enjoy new things in New England like snow! They told me I will have to learn to bark with a new accent but I'm sure I can learn to do that too! Thank you for making me a part of your family! Available 8/15/19.

Hi, My name is Felix and I'm a 1.5 year old neutered male Catahoula mix. My pictures may look serious but I'm a happy guy. I like to play with dogs of all sizes and I'm great with kids. I was previously with kids 8 and up. I like to go for hikes and I like belly rubs. I look big in the picture, but am just a little bigger than medium-sized. I'm house trained and keep my kennel clean. I know how to walk on leash. Won't you give me a chance? I'm ready for my new home. I need someone who is home for half the day or I must go to doggy playgroup or daycare.

New arrival. Available 8/15/19. This litter is tiny compared to the other pups, yet the same age, so we don't think they are going to be very big. They are very active and full of adventure. They love to run and play. This is not a pup to sit home in the crate while you are at work. Pups need someone home. Pups will need a family dedicated to basic obedience training.

Holly is an adorable 6 month old pup who is house trained and crate trained and already knows some basic obedience commands. She is just a perfect pup for a family. Like any puppy she has puppy energy so would be great for a family or adopter who will play with her. Another playful dog would be ideal for her. Holly is a good pup. She will lie by your side and entertain herself while you're on your computer. Her adoptive family worked with her and trained her but returned her due to unforeseen circumstances. Holly and her sisters Summer and Suzi came up from TX as bottle-fed pups. She is already spayed and has received her puppy shots and is microchipped. Adopted

Hi My name is Jesse and I'm a 4 year old medium sized dog. I was adopted as a pup and as the family is growing I'm too nervous around the toddler. I would love a quiet home. Housetrained. I came from a working couple and was able to stay home without being destructive in the house. I love to chase a ball and can catch a ball mid-air in my mouth, but I won't bring it back. I'm not a retriever. I'm friendly and cuddly if you're looking for that special friend. I am not at the shelter currently but once we receive your application I can usually be brought here so you can meet me. My adopter says I'm smart, perceptive and a good listener. I love to play with other dogs, but am better with males than females. My current pictures are not that great, but I'm a happy girl for the most part and an easy keeper. I weigh 33#.

Luna, DOB 5/18/2019 Female Bloodhound  Mix
Luna
Luna   Luna

Adopted

Luna weighs 21# and she's a calm puppy with a very easy-going temperament, just like her Dad who is a purebred Bloodhound. She LOVES to swim! She's great with dogs of all ages but intros must be slow because she was used to mom and her siblings so can run from strange dogs at first. As she's such a young pup she will need house training, proper socialization, puppy classes and lots of love. Local adopters are given preference as we will not send young puppies very far away. We prefer stay-at-home or work-from-home adopters. Please apply online on our web site at http://www.saveadog.org/applytoadopt.asp and we will be in touch for private showings if your application matches our criteria. We follow a holistic protocol which is healthier for the pups. First vaccines were given, but vaccines do not guarantee immunity so they must keep at home for at least two weeks subsequent to vaccines as each vaccine suppresses the immune system. All pups are sent home with 30 days free Trupanion pet insurance.

Adopted

These little Ragamuffins, Mickey and Minnie, were left in their crate in front of the rescue with a note. They are approximately six months old. We will place separately. Terrier experience would be best as the breed is not for everyone, even though they're cute. We expect to be inundated with applications so prefer Save A dog supporters or locals or previous adopters if possible. Mickey would do best with a confident female dog as he is timid. He needs an adopter who has patience and will understand that he will blossom if given the time. We're looking for a holistic-minded adopter who won't push the neuter on this shy boy. Available 8/15/19.

New arrival. Available 8/15/19. New arrival. Available 8/15/19. This litter is about half the size of the Bloodhound pups, yet the same age, so we don't think they are going to be Shepherd-size, more like Border Collies The one pup who was black and white with a border collie look got adopted prior to coming up so we're thinking they are more Border Collie than Shepherd. These pups are beyond adorable and love to be spoiled. They love people and children and have a sense of adventure. They love to snuggle and will curl up in your lap. Their sense of outdoor adventure is infectious as they learn the world around them. All the pups get along great with other dogs. Pups will need a family dedicated to basic obedience training.
